Best guess people , where will we finish and where do we need to finish to give rhe flag a shot

I think we can finish 2nd but relies so much on the good lions for the road home , last game against the demons could well be a final in itself

Need to finish top two ! Home finals are critical

Looking at the draw can't see us finishing ahead of Melbourne or Geelong for starters unless we miraculously run into hot form . Hoping a couple below us stumble and we can get into the top 4.

Looking at the the draw coming up for us >

Dogs(H)- W
Bombers(H)- W
Giants(A)- W
Suns(H)- W
Tigers(A)- L
Blues(H)- W
Saints(A)- W
Demons(H)- L

5 of 8 at the Gabba is a huge advantage for us, if we win all 5:)(maybe 4 > Demons) of them that will put us on 14/15 wins and just about guarantee a top 6 spot and at least 1 home final, we would have to be a good chance to win 2 of our 3 away games ie. Giants & Saints, if so we should finish top 4. IMO a win v the Dogs this Thursday night is vital because as things stand right now I can not see us beating the Tigers or Demons in the run home.

My tip is we win 6 of 8 finish on 16 wins and scrape into 4th place on percentage and face the Cats or Demons in an away Qualifying Final.... lose to Dogs we finish 5th/6th.

My ladder predictor has us finishing 5th. Think we’ll finish somewhere between 4th and 6th. Probably gotta hope Melbourne keep winning and Freo and Geelong lose some games you’d expect them to win

5th would be an ok place to finish. We could avoid Melbourne until the GF assuming they finish first and win their first 2 finals.

I did the ladder predictor and we ended up 2nd, even losing games away to Richmond and the Saints (noting I did that yesterday!) Interesting also Freo drop to 5th and Suns miss the finals on percentage with 13 wins

Out of curiosity. How’s your tipping going?

We'd all have pencilled in the Melbourne game as a likely loss. Dropping the Hawthorn and Freo games removed any buffer when there's a lot of teams around the same level. Beating the Dogs and Blues will re-create that buffer IMO.

If we can win 6 we're top 4 . Even 5 we're a chance.

Finishing 5th or 6th isn't the end of the world because we get a home final against one of the lesser teams and the next match will tell us how good we are.

The little niggle is that we drop our bundle after this week and struggle to win say 4 . But after these last few years of struggling to get well in contention I'll be very disappointed if that happens.

The Hawthorne loss could come back to bite us. I am glad we are playing Carlton at the GABBA, and I don't care if Gardner is fit by then, I would be playing Payne on Curnow and Adams on McKay (use his body) with Andrews instructed to be the intercepting back. De Koning spending considerable time forward means Andrews must go to him.

I think if we can beat the Dogs and Carlton we can make top 4, but likely face Geelong or Melbourne in first week of finals.

I think the cats win over the tigers is probably more consequential for our finish position rather than the loss. It was one of their few remaining hard games.

Won’t beat either.

Next thursday will tell the story. Are we going to dust off the last loss and come back with a vengeance or drop the bundle altogether. Huge game.

At the end of the H&A fixture, I have predicted we finish 4th or 5th. With our 2022 form so far this season I would rate a 6 out of 10. Unless we get some consistency and improved form overall we are looking at going out in straight sets in the finals. If this happens under the Fagan regime, changes MUST be implemented. We don't want a 1 win 6 or 7 loss in finals under Fagan.

Brisbane look like chokers. They remind me very much of Richmond a few years ago before they got their mojo. Totally capable of winning the big games, but failing to turn up, or failing to win an arm wrestle in close, big games. Only winning 4 of their last 5 finals suggests it. The capitulation to Melbourne also does.

Brownie made a good point on one of the footy shows the other day. Said none of the forwards, McStay, Eric or Daniher have any mongrel or aggression. He is right, and not just those key forwards, that goes for the whole team! Only Robbo shows some mongrel, but unfortunately he is out of form. To go to another level, Brisbane need to get tougher. They actually need someone in the engine room to drag them into an aggressive mindset. At the moment there in no one besides Robbo with any bottom.

Brisbane have the cattle to have a very successful era. But each year that goes by, that potential era gets shorter... and less likely. They dont know how to win the close ones in big games. Or they dont turn up at all. They are potentially much better than that. On paper the best team in the comp. Something is missing. IMO those ingredients lacking are the mongrel, aggression, arrogance .... hallmarks of a champion side.

Ive put them in 7th spot as i dont believe they can find the necessary mindset without bringing in a player or two during the offseason who will provide the nesesary mongrel, and aggression.

Hey Required on a completely unrelated matter I really like your signature, similar to another one attributed to Iron Mike that I'm a fan of >

Third for me. If we can win the games we should and split Richmond/Melbourne we may even finish second - but we'd be relying on Geelong losing a couple.

Big watch for me is the Saints game. They've been horrible these past 2 weeks. Carlton game is big for them. If they lose it they might just fall apart, but I'm not prepared to put a line through them yet. If we're to do anything meaningful this year we should win, but I still have it marked as a danger game.

Yeah, people have no idea how philosophical Tyson is. His incredibly deep, intelligent, seemingly 'off the cuff' remarks regarding life, personal growth etc is jaw dropping. The stuff he comes out with in recent years often blows the mind of those who are interviewing him. He quotes Nietzsche, Tolstoy, Plato and Aristotle, amongst others. Absolutely NOT scripted, as he is often stoned as a maggot when interviewed. He just drops philosophical bombs like the punches he once winged. Amazing.

He recently had a sit down with Alex Jones. Blew a joint together... and blew Jones mind with the philosophical bombs he dropped. Hugely entertaining!
