Good Thred Mate I would think the dees and roos would be closest to pushing for the top8 both have a fantastic group of young players Adeliade would then be my best bet really like the look of some of their young players eg Sloan, Walker, Knights, Dangerfield to many really. Your mob would be closely followed like the look of your foward line and you have some stars in the making with Riewoldt Cotchin and Martin and like the look of Mortan as an outside mid. Lions have some good young blokes with Hanely, Rockliff and Leuenburger i think their list is ok to what some people are saying... Essendon will be a few years of with a new coach but also have some good kids Reimers, Houli, Jetta, Davey, Hurley will all grow the club in a few years. Lastly West Coast are a fair way off they lack polish but have an ok bunch of kids with Ebert and Masten loook ok Lecras to really give them a lift in the next couple of years while their on the bottom. Forgot about Port but they also have some really good kids Hartlett looks really promising if he can stay on the park Boak had an amazing season finishing in the top 10 in the brownlow have a good backline with Carlile and Some good kids coming through Pearce really needs to have a big season next year. I also think Primus will give Motlop a kick up the backside he needs
My 2c

Voted for North Melbourne, but Adelaide, Melbourne and Port imo have just as strong a chance as them.

Richmond might suprise, but West Coast, Brisbane and Essendon have some serious improvement on/off field work to be done. It could be done and it won't suprise me if one of those 3 teams improvement rivals that of north or melbourne

Melbourne have the best list out of the 8 by far then probably Port adelaide and Richmond.I dont rate Norths list its not that great

Had to vote for West coast maybe not this year but surely in 3 years

Melbourne and Adeliade should be too

My thoughts are similar to Liam's

North - Probably have the best list out of them all. Can never ever be written off
Melbourne - They're coming no doubt. Just off the pace but. Need an extra ruck still
Adelaide - Good talent in youth. Goodwin, McLeod, Edwards and co. will be sorely missed but
Richmond - Still a bit young and inexperienced in key areas. Think Miller could really improve the Tigers if they get him
Port - Need more depth in key areas

Keep on waiting...

Brisbane - Lack depth in key areas
West Coast - Patience is a virtue...
Essendon - Hird's got a massive task here as a new coach. Give it time

Which team from outside the 8 looks likely to be in the finals mix within the next 3 years
Nth Melbourne and Melbourne are the ones to watch for me. I think that all both of them need is a real forward and they could be off. Petrie is back for Nth but would be lucky to have one of his best seasons. Jarrah could fire for Melbourne but he just looks like he is going to break to me. He leaps in without fear, which if fine, but you have to be able to play next week. Here's hoping that it's a Vic team that breaks in!

Crows will play finals in 2011, possibly pushing top 4. Jacobs will be the trade of the decade. And I fully expect Tippett to be challenging for the Coleman.

I voted for North, unbiased.
They'll struggle without McIntosh, but the new blokes get better every game. Assuming we put Goldstein in the ruck with Daw (later on). I don't think Petrie should be rucking.

North Melbourne and Melbourne.

Essendon depends on how our group of young midfielders comes on. People say our midfield is shit but if Zaharakis, Myers, Melksham, Howlett, Colyer and Heppell develop quickly we could be up there. I don't think we're in as terrible shape as most people would like to believe.

Yes of course this is biased and I'll say Adelaide (along with Melbourne and Port), but it is due to these players in particular who I believe will (should?) become excellent over the next 2-3 years -

Patrick Dangerfield
Andy Otten
Chris Knights
Rory Sloane
Ricky Henderson
Kurt Tippet
Phil Davis
Brodie Martin
Richard Tambling
David McKay
Taylor Walker
Sam Jacobs
Bernie Vince
