The point is to discuss who is most likely out of our current list.

I understand that, but that's why i am struggling to see the point of the thread because i think to pick anyone of this current list and see them as a potential Brownlow recipient is a massive call, and its massively over-rating our list in its present form. I hope that things change, i really do, but at this stage everyone on our list is so far from being good enough to win a Brownlow its not funny IMO.

Here's what I reckon: If Jack Darling can get his fitness to a place where he can play a permanent midfield role, he'd be a cert for a Brownlow. The guy's a serious competitor, a defensive beast, and is miles faster than mids his size like Kennedy, Mundy or Brownlow winner Jobe Watson. Could become one of the most dominant mids we've ever had. IF he can get his running capacity up.

Size, pace and competitiveness isn't everything. I'm a big fan of Jack but he isn't that great below his knees and while quick in a straight line over a good distance, isn't a player to weave, turn or accelerate quickly.
I could see him being an occasional burst midfield player, like Lynch and Jonathan Brown were a few years ago, or maybe even in a part-time Richo wing-role, but as a full-time midfielder? I don't think so.
Welcome to BF regardless!

Cheers for the welcome.

I did note that Jack needs to get his running up, I both started and ended my post with that. My point was that he has pace as an attribute over similar players, and the players I noted aren't the most mobile blokes going around either; Jobe Watson's famous for running like a hobbled duck. Additionally, Patrick Dangerfield, Josh Jennedy and expecially a bloke called Chris Judd are evidence that if you can break through a tackle you don't need to weave around it.

And while he's not great below his legs at the moment, he has no need to be, he's a leading forward supported by the likes of Le Cras and Josh Hill, but if he has to become a fulltime mid there's no reason he couldn't develop better skills, especially given his drive and competitiveness.

Point is, I stand by my statement.
