Who is going to be Delisted?

McDougal, Street and West have already been told they are unrequired.

Gavin Hughes vacated his rookie spot early this year.

Do we need to de-list anyone else ?

A minimum of 3 have to go by AFL rules but we will certainly cull a few more.

West doesn't count because he was a veteran and we have no-one else qualified to replace him and rookies don't count either.

If Ray gets traded for draft pick he would count.

Lynch, O'Shea and Wight would all be on very shaky ground.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Eagle gets moved on or someone none of us suspect could get traded.

But then we have an extra pick which cancels each other out. I believe Clayton does want 5 picks again, heads would still need to roll.

Lynch, O'Shea and Wight would all be on very shaky ground.

The signs point to those players although O'Shea would be a chance to stay if he is rookied which I think is a strong possibility.

I would see the delistings as
McDougall - already gone
West - retired
Street - will be delisted if not traded
Stack - 2 years and is now behind 2007 draftees
Lynch - ditto
O'Shea - still playing VFL reserves.

This creates 5 spots for draftees assuming Ray traded for a player and any other trades are player for player. It also gives us 2 rookie spots with the departure of Hughes and the retirement of West.

If the club believes O'Shea and Lynch are worth persevering with they could be re-drafted to those rookie spots.

I note a few are calling for Wight to go but I would be very disappointed to see him delisted. He may be part of a trade but I believe he has more upside than Skipper who I would have sent on his way.

I think Wight is safe for sure. He is a handy back-up to a few positions. I notice nobody has mentioned Eagleton, I am unsure if I want him to saty on the list or not. He still seems to get heaps of the ball but infuriates at times when he does.
He seems to undo all the good work that he does do.

Eagleton will not be delisted although he would certainly be considered to trade if someone showed interest.

I think Stack is a keeper at this stage. Was going to be elevated to the seniors before he injured his hand this season.

Eagleton has one year left on his contract so unless we cut his contract early he will stay on the list. I think Oshea to the rookie list and stack to be delisted.

You are right that Eagle has another year to go and I think there is some merit in moving O'Shea to the rookie list but delisting Stack seems to be overly harsh. His form was OK at Williamstown before he was injured.

True that In the end this might be it and to be honest I want us to keep Stack just thought he might be unlucky and get cut . All the players that are already gone or going,What I should of said is that Stack could possibly be delisted. I Was just thinking with all the players that are already going so that leave us with 4 and if we put O'Shea on the rookie list that gives us 5 draft pics. I guess we will see in the next couple of weeks who will still be their. If Stack is going he will be a very unlucky player. I do agree with you their that he was OK before he got injured. He was used in all our pre season games this year.I think that one day you could see Stack, Hill, Harbrow and Lynch all in the one side and you just look at a lot of other sides and see that the Aboriginal boys seem to work really well together example Mat Campbell and Lindsey Thomas from North Melboune.

Cameron Wight wont go, i doubt Eagleton will either he still has a bit to offer the dogs such as an alternative option out of the middle.

My dad just rang up and said the bulldogs are apparently interested in Courtney Johns, what the **** is that about?

I don't think that we should delist O'Shea.
He was drafted as a bottom ager and was picked by some to of been a potential top 10 draft pick IIRC. So he will take a year longer than the others kids drafted with him.

yeah wasn't o'shea drafted as a 17 y/o a year be he was supposed 2 i heard his gonna be a very good player and brennan stack will be like josh hill next year but he will be running of the half back line like gilbee

When we Drafted O'shea we said he would go top 10 the following year and thats y we drafted him.

Well if that was claimed the claim was wrong. If he is delisted and renominates he will be ignored, which would not happen if he was a potential top 10 pick.

No doubt he was a speculative tall at the end of the draft but he has done nothing to warrant retention.

It is actually a good sign that there are so few obvious delistings, but with the supposed depth in the draft we need to be able to make about 5 selections.
