For those who are yet to wiki, the wikipedia is an online encylopedia that ANYONE can edit. That's right, even you. Find a topic, think it's wrong, needs more info, less confusion, then simply click edit and go for it.
There is a Wikiproject AFL that is attempting to be the definitive online record of everything AFL (and indirectly everything WAFL etc too).
So far, about 55 Freo players have a bio. Some are only stubs and need expanding, (Andrew Wills) some are appropriately detailed (Roger Hayden), some are in much more detail (Peter Bell).
There are still about 100 Freo players left to do. Some are high profile, like JLo and 211, others you might never had heard of, Martin Whitelaw and Ben Edwards. There is a list here or the full list of Freo listed players here
I think that everyone who has a buddy should check out their buddy's page. If they haven't got one, make one! Find a similar page, copy it, edit it & post it. If you stuff up, someone will edit it and give you advice, but look around, read the help files and it really isn't that difficult to do. PLEASE stick to the facts, don't have too much (any?) Point of View stuff... ie it's ok to say Troy Cook's main attribute is his toughness, it's not OK to say Troy Cook puts the fear of god into the eyes of opposition players. Keep it neutral. Don't vandalise other player's pages (ie try to stick to the facts about the booze bus boys!) It is an encylopedia, not a magazine article or a forum. We don't want to know your opinion of each player, but the accepted opinion of the player. If you have questions post them on the Talk or discussion pages attached to each article, or post them here or on my wiki talk page.
Use online resources, Docker yearbooks/Magazines, AFL stats books, the Encylopedia of AFL players, Footy Records, whatever you have to substantiate your claims. Don't use copywrited photos, but if you've taken some of your own, post them. Don't cut and paste from other articles, re-write them in your own words.
But have fun and help make the Freo section the most complete one in the WikiAFL.
