What more does he have to do?

Seriously, it's getting beyond a joke how much this guy gets bagged on here.

Last week, he kept Deledio to 13 possessions and 2 goals (one of which was from a free kick that wasn't a free kick, which should have been a rushed behind). Richmond know that Deledio doesn't have what it takes to be a midfielder, so they want him as a key forward, someone who could kick 55-60 goals a season, and 13 possessions, he had no impact on the game.

Tonight, Bannister tagged Dal Santo for the first three quarters, I counted that Dal Santo had 12 possessions at 3 Quarter Time, Banno then went forward, he helped set up that passage of play that Stevens butchered when he missed a 30cm handball to Judd, and Banno also got himself a goal, Dal Santo ended up with 21 touches, but when the game was in the balance, Dal Santo had absolutely no impact on the game.

What more does he have to do? Seriously guys, he's beaten his two opponents this season, one of which is one of the best midfielders in the game.

he beat dal santo who is one of their prime movers. he then went forward in the last term and kicked our firts goal since half time.

i have no problems with he's performances recently with preventing players from having an impact on the game.

What I am concerned about is what he does with the ball and the clangers he contributes too.

An elite footballer, which is a player who is able to play at afl level, cannot simply be a tagger. He must be some use to the team also when he has the football.

This is what will be the eventual downfall of banno. I have no doubts he works he's arse out there as does wiggo when he gets he's chance, but it is my belief that as long as these guys are able to fit into our best 22 we will not be competitive.

Was brilliant...dal asnto had no impact in the first 3 qauters and then bannister provided a good forward target.....anyone who thinks he isnt good is delusional......hopefully he tagges mcveigh or stanton out next week

I will give you $1000 if Bannister ever plays in a Carlton Premiership side.
He aint good enough. He tries hard and negates well but give him the ball and he usually (to borrow a phrase from a person who ruined our club) butchers it.

It's funny how DC gets all defensive when Bannister is bagged but has no problem sticking the boots in to Walker and Kennedy even when they showed promise.

Bannister has been very good this season but is nothing more than an average player.

There is a massive difference between Walker and Kennedy.

Kennedy showed no promise at all, I have no problems sticking the boots into Kennedy, because he's not a very good player.

Now with Walker, I get frustrated because a) it's Walker's job to rebound from defensive 50, if his kicks are ineffective, he's not doing his job, and it frustrates me because that's his downfall, his disposal, the intent is there, he backs himself, but his disposal lets him down so often and I get frustrated, that's why I made the thread, asking can he deliver?... can he improve his disposal enough to make a significant impact on a game, instead of turning the ball over too much.

Bannister is our junk yard dog. Get's in the oppositions face, and generally does a job on an opposition player. Has done a good job on Deledio and Dal Santo so far this year, and cleaned up Johnson and Cornes last year.

Sure, he's nowhere near our best player, but he gives you 110% each week.

Who says he's nowhere near our best player?

I think he's our best player ;)
And i'm 100% let down that Eddie Betts wasn't voted captain, he was the best man for the job:rolleyes:.
