No speculating on alleged 'rumours'

Thanks all!

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

We are a football club, pick the best footballers. If a kid has some issues, sort it out with him. We are in the business of winning flags not popularity contests.

Great clubs turn this stuff around with troubled young players. Hollands is too good a footballer to not be on our AFL list. We need him next year.

No point picking the best footballers if they spend most of the season away from the club. You can’t tell me the club hasn’t been trying to sort it out with him. But you can only help someone who wants to be helped. From the whispers, he’s had chances and blown them, and lost the trust of his teammates. You can’t keep him on the list if he’s not trusted and doesn’t play.

Delisting him and making him earn his spot back is the club trying to turn him around. It’s tough love - but he has upset a lot of people and it’s up to him to do the work and prove that his team mates they can rely on him. I’m invested in him overcoming his issues and coming back because he is a great talent and adds a lot to his team. But he needs a flawless preseason to show that he is worth a list spot.

I agree. Pretty sure I rate him a lot higher than most - I think he's one of our most critical players - much like Cunningham and Martin were in 2023. I'm a lot more confident of us making finals next year if he plays 20+ games.

Anyway, very relieved to see him at the training camp and looking fit / doing well in time trials.

Fingers crossed he's got his issues under control.

Ok, are we agreeing? If someone is a good football player, fits into the team and is committed nothing else matters ?

Good work EH
Our list needs a fit Elijah..
Great that he's doing preseason ..enjoy the camp Elijah!

Will help Voss survive next year
Will help the EH career as well
The club will probably manage him this time.keep him out of the lime light..
Just let him play some footy
He should easily make it back

Now he's got the training spot it's up to him. He's far better than anyone else we could give that spot to. His to lose. If he does all the right things, I doubt anything he did last year stops him getting that position. If it was going to, he would be gone from the club already.

Partly up to him. He has to do his part then we have to consider other players, list balance and needs. Long long way to go yet. Fingers crossed no more injuries so we have one spot to fill and many good options

I’ve said this before and I understand it’s not a popular opinion

But I really think this guy could be a high class Dan Houston at port like HBF. He’s a surgeon and would transform our transition game

I dont get the feeling KPP depth is as big a concern for Austin as it is for us Soap. Unless one goes down in which opens up another spot anyway.

I totally agree with this, his vision, ability to mark, kicking and early speed would make him lethal off HB.

Just what we need, another HB :p

*Upgrade on one of them!

We don’t need another half back, but upgrading delivery and connection would be a positive. Our forward line has had a massive upgrade (KPP aside) and Elijah is no longer required as an integral part of it. If he gets things together and earns his spot back, it could be worth a try. He was tried in the role at the Suns without success, however does appear to have the necessary attributes.

He does, as well as White.
Thks mate, we have taken on a guy post footy who is a v considered and smart kid. Said that in equal measure 'if you can get him right will be a weapon, but also a shit operator everyone knows what he is like"

Who cares

What’s the fascination with this guy

He’s been unloaded by 2 clubs after multiple chances

Seems to rate an AFL paycheque higher than an AFL career

Next please …
It is not a matter of who cares. It is a matter of I am interested by virtue of the newby at work that wants to transition into finance post career that I have taken on.
V smart guy and was, and still is, pretty close to a lot of older Suns imports. Was interesting listen to his take on him, hence asking the question.
I personally don't give a **** on the minutiae of his specifics. However my take away from said discussions is that we are dealing with a serious operator, not in a good way. And this was well known a long way out, hence what we got him for. How things currently sit aren't a surprise to those from a playing group standpoint. Seems the outlier was his first season with us.
He also added he has more talent than most wished they had v ordinary operator. Won't use exact words he used, you Cunning little foxes.
