Isn't it time we brought back those players that played for the jumper?

Especially Peter Daicos, for his specialist goal kicking, no one in Collingwood's history has surpassed him yet.

Definitely. I would want Daics ahead of anyone. But just by looking at his recent article in the Herald Sun shows that the likelihood of him coming back to Collingwood is HIGHLY unlikely.

Maybe he can teach Didak to cut the grog!
Would be great if daics came back to the club, but he seems to rub people up the wrong way. He upset channel 10 with the coverage of footy and was sacked and has made a few bad decisions over the years, but havent we all. He was allways a great guy with plenty of time for people. But i really think you are born with the skills and magic he had and can not really teach it to others.

I'm not sure if Daicos is coaching material. He hasn't got a coaching job of any description apart from some under 10s team after all these years, something must be wrong.

Having Collingwood blood around the coaching team and off-field staff may be a good idea and it's romantic but we can't base our decisions around this. Look at T.Shaw, I don't think he is that bad a coach, he needed more experience as an assistant coach elsewhere.

And the best example is looking at Carlton. Kernahan is the worst thing to ever happen to that "club", even worse than Jack Elliot, hell he was there during Jack's era. What the hell does he add apart from passion? Passion doesn't equate to a well structured and well operated club. And recently they are trying to win support by getting a few high profile ex Carlton players in Bradley and Ratten, and after trying to get Silvagni, who realistically won't touch the place unless he gets the top job, says alot about the "club". Getting Bradley and Ratten is all well and good however it reeks of tokenism.

The reason why he's not at the Pies is that he wanted to go last year, but was asked to go there as a specialist coach for nicks. The club didn't want to pay him.Yet they go ahead and employ Wayne Carey on a part time basis as a forward coach for over $100,000 a year.Carey was hardly at the club
with his foxtel commitments. No wonder Daics isn't interested in going back.
