Thompson's already said we'll be keeping it, The reports say we'll be trading it and a player for Jade.

Hopefully we can keep it, the last thing we need is trading pick #7 and a player for another Mitchell White:(

As I said in the Rawlings topic, with this year's draft not being as strong as in previous seasons, if we're going to trade our first round pick, then this year is probably the best time to do it. Don't forget we're getting Mark Blake as a 3rd round father-son pick, and hopefully Nathan Ablett as well with a bit of luck.

I'd just like to point out that in the last 'dud' draft Drew Petrie and Coughlan were among some of the names drafted.

Petrie Dish would be very handy in place of Murphs and Mitchell.

Moral of the story: There's always some exceptional talent around.

I don't think he actually said we would keep it, after the saints match he said it was the policy to keep it as previous trades hadn't gone that well. But then he said anything could happen, effectively laying the pick on table for negotiation.

I can't see how we can get Rawlings without useing pick 7. I think that is about right . Last year Everit and Woewoden were swaped straight for first round picks that certainly weren't as low as number 7 . If the hawks are wanting any more than this they maybe dreaming.

Perhaps it will be Rawlings plus a 3rd or 4th round draft pick for our #7 pick and a player, preferably a tall.

well now that the roos hav got Rawlings, it would seem highly unlikely that we will trade or part with our pick 7. so now we can decide who to draft with it: Chaplin, R.Clarke, Ryley Dunn (i hope so), Watts, Gayfer..etc

Meself I hope we get Kepler Bradley from WA. A bloke at 198cm that can play forward, back and midfield sounds alright.

Other then him what about Farren Ray? He seems quite good, got a good leap and good endurance and may play as soon as next year. Another one is Michael Pettigrew and of course Raphael Clarke.

Just hope we dont waste the pick on some looser like a richardson from Richmond and if they do trade it, give it up for someone that will server the club for at least 5 years or more.

i don't think Farren Ray, Kepler Bradley, Ryley Dunn or Raphael Clarke will be around by pick #7. I hope we get Fergus Watts if he's still around though.
