See I don't understand this at all, tanking is just as prevalent if not more so in the NBA than in the AFL. Teams still tank for the chance to get more balls come the lottery.

Look at what the Spurs did to get Duncan.

Ironically, the team with the most balls rarely ever get the #1 pick... Clubs would soon realise over the years that 25% really isn't that much different from 17.5% or whatever.

From memory, wasn't the only reason the Spurs drafted so high was because Robinson went down for the season? I can't remember them intentionally throwing games like the Heat were towards the end of this year...

But yes I agree, a lottery system would remove a lot of problems existing now :thumbsu:

Yes, Robinson went "down"

Or Pop held him out, you be the judge ;)

Miami this year is another perfect example.

We are bad. But Melbourne and the weagles are worse. Much worse (esp WC). I reckon we will win these two games, and lose all the rest.

So long as we don't "win" the wooden spoon. I don't ever want a spoon again.

We need that priority pick, but we also need a couple of wins - for the supporters and for the young players.

I'd like to beat Melbourne after we humiliated ourselves against them last time (and because of the CC factor); and I'd like to beat the weagles too. Just because. ;)

Other than that, meh, who cares. Hate to say it, but I mean it.... :(

Bring on 2009.

And the sad thing is I don't particularly care.

Geez I hate this draft system :thumbsd:

Have to agree Rip. I can't see any benefits in winning anymore either :(:o

I honestly can't believe that Melbourne are still below the weagles. They are clearly the worst team in the competition, how can anyone be below them?

hope so just so we avoid the spoon, solli and crowley are a couple of big outs though.

as has been said bring on 2009 - it's going to be a long summer.

No Hayden hurts too - we had no one to curb their small forwards last time and I don't think we've got anyone this week either.

yep, adds to the instability of the side, just please harvs don't bring in macca and thornton has to be dropped although i dont think it will happen with two forced changes already.
