Maybe it's over dramatising it, but with the mental health issues he has already dealt with, would not surprise if we don't see Willy for a while... a long while.

I wouldn't be surprised if his career is nearly done not just because of this drama but he is a guy that needs help here and there & time away isn't anything new for him since he's been here, it's how Carr views it when he takes over I guess.

this is pretty much a flow-on from his days at west coast, he was allowed to get away with anything and everything and then decided to stab them in the back just because he could, he comes to port and even though he's a little bit older and mature the same principals he lived by remain because it was never dealt with. You can pretty much bet the drugs ban he copped from west coast was most probably a lot more serious than reported and it was a case of the club protecting itself rather than the club looking after rioli, this gave him a licence to get away with murder.

On the other hand, the club should do all it can to make sure Willie's behaviour changes. Threats are not on. If they are a result of provocation or off-field issues, those need to be addressed too.

My hunch is that is why the other clubs were happy to let things slide at the time.

Yeah link this to Willie's outburst about the Hawks and in relation to what Cyril and a few others were put through. Surprised Alistair hasn't had his career in the AFL world aborted.

No Essendon player has taken any umbrage to anything Willie has said.

Geelong and Port dealt with an incident of non-disclosed particulars and both parties agree the matter is closed, and in fact it was never raised with the AFL.

Yet these are the 'new' smoking gun incidents Caro clutched her pearls at and the AFL now all of a sudden are re-opening an 'investigation' into things nobody even cares about?

He didn't cop a drugs ban from West Coast. He got one from the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal after an ASADA/Sports Integrity standard investigation.

He stupidly poured Gatorade into his urine sample to try and hide he had been using dope. He got a 2 year ban.

From what I've read, this is not what has happened.
The 'threat' was so ridiculously over the top it could be argued that it was just banter between two players.

There really needs to be some transparency from the player, clubs, the media, and the AFL about what was actually said instead of hiding behind vague insinuations.
