Cam Cloke was quite impressive, but so was the ice on his knee after the game. He took some nice marks floating back into defence which impressed me. 6.8/10

Tarks wasnt there really, he set up a goal with a handpass and laid the best tackle ive seen in a while. The tackle was outstanding, Lockyer wasnt. Put him the black and white, he'll be right! 3/10 tackle-10/10

the Shaw brothers were BOG IMO by a mile, with O'Hailpin or however you spell it from the bullants. Rhyce was pumped up, he was yelling orders, talking, running hard, shepparding, getting kick after kick and was dead set amazing. I would pay just to watch him do it again, hopefully at AFL level.
Heath was just as terrific, he works hard and finds the ball. He is very effective and is having a top season, id give him a guernsey at the pies, thats how impressed ive been with Heath. Cant split them for BOG.

Rhyce-9.2/10
Heath-9.2/10

Crow was another who did some good things, looked comfortable in the VFL. 7/10

Morrison impressed me, he has good hands and a solid kick. He played FF and did well, excited by his progress. 7/10

Brayden wasnt used much, not getting much of a go. Got some of the ball in the third but had no real impact. 3.5/10

Rowe wasnt bad when he was on, prob saw him have 10 kicks. He got some hardball which i liked but he wasnt close to our best. Looks like he will be a player though, tough and skillful. 5/10

Maxwell was reasonable, took some fair marks, lacks heart, so he fits in to our list very well. 4/10

SEAGULL-ONLY LISTED PLAYERS- Really impressed by Terry Knight, even though he copped a huge spray from Gotchy at 3 quarter time. Really has some go in the forward line, exciting-Russell Robertson like player, just a little tougher than robbo and a little less exciting. Luke Jarrad was good, Brad Lloyd was good and i was impressed by Luke Theodore who played part in important goals, playing off the forward flank.

Great win GULLS!!!! 7.7/10

If BK can get a game for setting up a goal with a handpass, surely Tarks can.

Only problem is our next three games are at the Dome, ideal for Tarks to re-injure himself. Not sure its the perfect way to come back - they might give him another week in the two's.

This is the report from the collingwood website

Here is a summation coach Bradley Gotch’s views of the performances of Collingwood listed players for Williamstown this week:

Steve McKee: injured a toe last week and will hopefully be ready to resume this week.

Brayden Shaw: struggled a little in the first half when teamed with Luke Shackleton in the midfield. Made an impact in the third quarter with his work at clearances and running to receive.

Nick Maxwell: promoted to the senior list last week after an impressive run of form. Dedicated and versatile tallish defender.

Billy Morrison: took 6 marks and was in position to take 4 more when kicks fell short. Kicked only one goal but continues to make steps forward, having played for the Williamstown seniors as a key forward for the past month.

Heath Shaw : a return to the pre-season form that had Heath on the fringes of selection for Collingwood. Lively effort off a half forward flank, with 2nd and 3rd efforts improved and hard work at the ‘team things’ such as smother, chasing and tackling a highlight. Brad feels Heath’s improving fitness is enabling him to get to more contests and make more of a contribution.

Tarkyn Lockyer: Tarkyn stepped up his game time from 60 to 80 minutes in his second game back from his long lay-off. His skills were noticeably sharper than last week, with Brad labelling several well weighted passes to leads a’class above’ VFL standard. Tarkyn was sore after his first hit-out and should gradually start to play more game time in the coming weeks.

Rhyce Shaw: bounced back from a disappointing game last week in top form. Played strongly off a wing early on before being tagged, then provided drive from half-back. An encouraging performance, particularly given Rhyce’s good use of the ball.

Julian Rowe: stepped up for his first Williamstown senior game and made a solid debut. Brad was pleased with Julian’s ‘marked improvement in doing the hard things’. He won 17 possessions and kicked 3 goals in three quarters.

Cameron Cloke: Didn’t jump at centre bounces as well as he has recently, but played every well around the ground and marked strongly. Playing with confidence after a promising Collingwood debut.

David King: not one of David’s better games. Lacked his usual drive from defence and made a few mistakes. A game he will put behind him.

Luke Shackleton: still working back to peak fitness after an injury setback. In his first game back in the midfield, Luke struggled to cover his opponents when the ball was in transition from attack to defence. His work at stoppages is still strong, but must be at peak fitness to get to enough contests to make an impact.

Reserves:

Brent Hall: played centre half back and centre half forward, and while he did not excel, is pleasing the coaching staff by stepping up his game time.

Zane Leonard: rested following sopreness in first game after a hamstring injury. Will be assessed this week

Winger Dean ‘Georgie’ Benson played about an hour on his return from injury and will improve with more game time, but he showed pace and verve.

Ruck prospect David Fanning unfortunately sustained a posterior cruciate ligament knee injury at a centre bounce two weeks ago. He will miss up to 8 weeks.
