“The decision to allow a player who allegedly racially vilified an opponent almost two weeks ago has been given the all clear by AFL Vic to play in a grand final this weekend. This comes on the back of and knowledge that the matter is ongoing and yet to be resolved. The excuse provided is stated as, not enough time to complete the investigation. This is an absolute disgraceful position adopted by AFL Vic and has led, not only for the victim but the wider community, to question the integrity of what is a system designed to stop such occurrences. Ararat too good.
Respectfully as a CHF Sam White is as gun CHB( best backman in the league easily)
Looked a little lost leading into the wrong areas.
A young Jennings closing him out.
I wonder what would have happened if he was pushed back early.
I’m sure Ararat don’t get off the chain as easily in the 3rd as they did.

Yeah agree that Sam White is the best key back in the league. The Thunder need to find a solid key forward so he can play permanently down back.

Total disgrace the WFNL committee and tribunal, watch them quash the racial vilification charge! must be run by Ararat Football Club!

Given Tom’s profile I would say that he’s gone for a legal representative which may be slowing the process.

There was obvious interest in him mid-year from a club at AFL level and it wasn’t long ago this was his full time job, so you couldn’t blame the bloke for trying to protect his name from the chance of a Kangaroo court.

The league isn’t renowned for making good decisions and a racism charge against your name at any level of football is not great. So I hope due diligence is afforded to both parties.

I personally think they got it right with the Billy Lloyd late high contact in the Semi. One of the few decisions I agree with

My good buddy who lives in Horsham said Williamson has said racist things more tjan once.
And with Williamson playing at Carlton I'm sure players like Eddie Betts & Jack Martin would be delighted that he is even up on alleged racist comments.
Obs if he wants to even look at AFL/VFL he needs curtail his his alledged on field antics.
Personally and from very recent racist comments by an indigenous lad I can't condone Williamsons behaviour, and obs there is recent form by him

Well I’m glad we aren’t convicting him on the basis that someone’s good buddy that lives in Horsham said so.

There is no ‘recent form by him’ just because your good buddy from Horsham said so. Evidence says this is his first alleged racial vilification charge and that’s how everyone should view it.

I’m not pro-Tom Williamson, you can check my previous posts for that. But this is a serious allegation and if it takes 3 months to fully investigate then so be it. I hope for the integrity of the Wimmera league that it was a miscommunication.

If it’s not, it leaves Ararat in a serious predicament. You cannot have the senior coach of your club with that charge.
