Wimmera League 2010

Over the past few years it would be obvious who. With the departure of a previous toohey winner recently you would think it would have been able to put it to good use. Or as l said it may just be be that no one likes the MOONHEAD lm to good attitude.

Who was getting the money before?
There seems to be plenty of people with plenty of things to say about Ararat, but they never provide evidence to back up these accusations/ opinions. They may be correct, but without evidence how are people going to believe what is said.
Are these people afraid if they say too much they will be caught out, or are they just slinging off because of some past incident with the club?
If you say it, back it up!

As it is an opinion there doesnt need to be evidence as it is only an opinion. As some people have said all clubs have people who think they are better than everyone else which is fair enough, but they dont seem to be finding it hard to find players. Im not saying they players think they are better, maybe it could be some from behind the scenes that who are running the club. Maybe a change needs to be made there, l dont no it is only my opinion.

Yes they do. Hasnt produced enough for me. Alot has to do with players he has, I think he coached Wanambool to two flags in sucession in his time there which wasnt long.

I think it's unfair to label any club one type. yes there is a small few you may come across that way but 99% of the people at that club are good people. it's the same with any club. Even Taty has a few bad eggs. We have the nick name Goons are we all goons? Ararat Eagles had a rep for being drugos are criminals. If you had a look at the time they had half the Ararat police station playing there. As a whole they are some of the best blokes you'll ever come across.

Ararat Rats problems obviosly run deep into the culture but I'm not sure what exactly that one problem is. There is nothing wrong with paying players if they are worth it. I think most clubs have the "right group" maybe your mates got used to being in it and got a shock when moving clubs?

Well said Lazyhawk. As for u Fancy Pants, i think Southern Bombers is referring to the fact that it is easy to point the finger from afar and talk things up, but unless u have been involved or associated with the club then it would be hard to really say wouldnt it? That kind of evidence... Pelican.

I disagree. I think people should be able to offer opinions and ask questions about other clubs without being directly involved with that club. It happens in Melbourne all the time with major newspapers and television reporting on the running of clubs every week. You just have to keep an open mind and realise those people expressing their opinions may have no idea of what they are talking about.

Offering an opinion is different to labelling an entire club as arrogant!

Would that be in regards to my comments bumbles? If so l did not label the whole club arrogant. Your obviously an Ararat supporter, so whats your take on the Ararat attitude. Maybe your a little defensive because you believe your in the higher echelon of the club and cant handle people having there opinions.

He called the club arrogant, then it was correctly pointed out that most clubs have good and bad and not everyone at the same club thinks the same way…..two people offering opinions about Ararat……people will make up their own minds.

My opinion on Ararat is that they have a good coach but unfortunately a lot of their players have behaved like spoiled brats over the last few years. Fortunately a lot of the sooks have now gone onto lesser clubs in lesser leagues.
There was one of those little sooks at training last night, lets not go backwards, Go Rats.

Ararat is a great club with good people.

He is a very good footballer though, so if he does go back to Ararat it would be beneficial. is his old man still playing??????

NOT BAD TIPPING THIS WEEK.

Why dont all you moonhead rodents start your own Ararat thread and have your little tiffs and sooky la la's in private. Most of the Wimmera could not give a toss about the pestilence from down in grubby sewer country anyway - just been making up the numbers each week for years. We would be better off without a bye in reality. Form a team 'Jikadale Soap Scoopers' made up with the corrupt guards and deviant prisoners and then the rodents, birds and jailbaters can play each other each week and we can all be free of the constant whinging. We are all tired of rodent rantings - move on or move away, this is the Wimmera League.

In actual fact im not even at the club anymore old mate. As for the upper echelon of the club im not sure who u wud be referring to there? As i have said in my previous posts i just thought it was bit ordinary saying that Ararat think they are better than everyone else, when at the moment they are a bunch of young kids out there having a crack and playing some good footy. The playing group wud seem to have a pretty good attitude, considering they were widely tipped to finish bottom two or three and have now shown they can compete right up with the competitions best. Good on them for being out there having a crack and good luck to them for the rest of the year!!

Righto, back to the footy hey;

As i said i would i headed down to the Rec Reserve in Dim on Sat to have a squiz at the rats v. Dim. Just can't get away from ararat on this forum eh!
And also as a few predicted i believe the result was determined by the forwards, with Przibilla taking the cake over Fratin and setting up the win for the roos. They played young Ellifson on Fratin who i thought did an extremely good job, now i don't know much of this guy but i do know he came from District League, did he play any seniors there or is this another example of good coaching by Davidson? Anyway Fratin did struggle to get into the game. The rats however at times looked the better side with some of thier movement up the ground looking very exciting. In fact i don't think Dimboola played that well. Maybe the inclusion of a forward target who kicks goals is what they have needed in the last couple of years?
Anyway did anyone see any of the other matches?

Does anyone know if young Ellifson is related to Cam Ellifson who played at Dim in the late 80's?

Great to see the Roos on the improve.

p.s thanks for the report mate.
