A mate of mine got this error on his laptop this morning.
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<windows root>/system32/ntoskrnl.exe.
please re-install a copy of the above file.
He doesnt have the original Dell windows CD and is running XP Home edition.
would this be as simple to fix as copying the file to disk (although im running XP Pro)? He also has a 2nd hard drive connected by USB, is it possible to access that via DOS?
Any help would be much appreciated,
