Fasinating reading considiring hindsight os an exact science. Pasted in this text because I thought these comments were the most interesting part.

"Ultra versatile but injury-prone 6'1" goer worth a top 10 pick. Would be worth a top 5 pick if it wasn't for concern over structural shoulder weakness. Probably still be worth a top 5, he's so versatile and dynamic.

He is somewhat overrated based on (1) what he has actually done, (2) his shoulder history, (3) his targetted kicking being very inaccurate for such an otherwise outstanding talent. However, he gives every impression he COULD be something special, and have a lot of scope for further improvement. He SEEMS the type who will rise to the occasion and adapt to whatever standard he is exposed to.
On potential, I would definitely rate him behind Hodge but not behind anyone else."

*Yawn* the whole Hodge vs Judd thing is so 2001. All I can say is that thankfully Wiseby isn't our recruiting manager.

wiseby's assumptions or predictions on judd have come to fruition, thats for sure!, hes a big game player,DYNAMIC and a game-winner, west coast recruiting team deserves and has received due praise for taking the risk and selecting as wiseby makes it clear he had extensive shoulder injuries, especially fo a youngster

I dont think its 2001 at all, it is also now, West Coast have a 21 year old game breaker and are looking the goods for the next 10 years for the way things have worked out assuming they hold onto him.

Despite what some Hawthorn supporters say, they look really unlucky with this deal. Hodge all of a sudden is injury prone and even looking a little slow and like a battler, while Judd from memory hasnt missed a game in 3 years to injury and could be the player of his generation. But if say Judd went to Hawthorn he may have made such a difference to their performances not only via his own brilliance but also by inspiring his teammates, that they could have been in a position where they may not have been able to pick up one of Roughead or Franklin let alone both and who knows how these guys could be.

So this one decision in 2001 may not necessarily be that bad in the end for the Hawks and if Hodge comes up then its a bonus.
