I was a Woey hater at melbourne but i have been impressed by him in the later stages of the year. I think he had a soft melbourne attitude when he arrived but was much harder at it in last few weeks. His game on hird against essendon was excellent. I think that with a pre-season under Mick he will be even better next year. What do you think? I know that the Woey haters will tell me i'm wrong but from what i've seen in here lately everyone has their detractors.
 
Imagine if he does improve next year, he seems to win brownlow votes far easier then bucks. Could he challenge for the brownlow next year? What is with blondes and brownlow votes?
 
I thought he would fit right into Collingwood. With his brilliant game against the Crows i new he would do well in the rest of the season.

I thought he was the worse player to win a brownlow, but he does attract votes.

Had the number 2 jersey on my back at the start of the year. Changed to no.28

He's been harshly dealt with because of his time with Melbourne. This year he played some ripping games, really game us something in the midfield. The general opinion is that Woey is soft and doesnt do the hard things (he wasnt helped with his gf game, under the eyes of all football fans). But the amount of times I saw him under a back, getting up last and giving the ball back....jeez I was impressed. I thought he had a really good year, but hurt himself with his gf game.
 
It will be interesting when his contract ends and we take up his full wage requests. I don't think that he can ask for anywhere near what the dees were paying him. He is top 10 at collingwood not top3.

we werent a threat because we had scottland he didnt play much of the season so how does that work **** head?? scottland is a dud cant wait 2 c how dissapointed u will b next season

At least we will have Carlton in the comp to beat, and we get to beat them twice...;)

Back to the topic, Woey played some great games for us. He is an in and under player. Although it doesn't help get stats you can't underrate a player who stops the ball from being cleared by the opposition and Woey did that a lot.

Funnily enough I thought his best games were when he wasn't manned up and wasn't needed to tag. When he gets out on his own he is a valuable link man and can be very damaging.

His bad is bad, but his good is very good...his consistency and hardness improved as the year went on...but then the GF came..but he was one of many to falter on that particular day
 
Woey will be soft for life. Two losing grand finals in his career, that should be about it for him. If the pies cop about 2 or 3 injuries to key players next season, they can kiss the season goodbye from now.

A true optimist. If you apply your thinking across the board I guess there must be 14 others who should quit as they have lost two grand finals as well. These include Bucks, Burns, Fraser, Tarrant, Johnson etc.

It's good to see that after a year at Collingwood he's gotten rid of that soft melbourne attitude and developed a completely different and even softer attitde with the Pies.

Do you actually post anything on the Melbourne board or just in here? I think you are a closet Collingwood supporter.

Woey is a much better player at Collingwood as he doesn't have to carry the whole midfield. Notice how Yze dropped off this year when he was asked to do it all? If Melbourne worked on getting some midfielders to help the few they have they might get themselves off the bottom of the ladder, but somehow I don't think they will as they are too stupid.
 
What interests me is that all the Melb fans are so keen to kick the crap oujt of him now when he was a fav. when he was there. Is this a case of hating a bloke who was hardly done by? I wonder if he cares any more?
