There was some talk on 3AW after the game tonight (vs Melb) that Woja's injury may be "season ending" (their words). Anybody know anything on this? I love watching his run and carry with this team....

I said last week it was the season. I have no sources or facts, but he will struggle to get back I think. Very happy to be wrong on this.

Ive had an achilles injury before and they are pricks of things to get over.

Basically the problem is that its is the furthest away from the heart of all body parts and so the blood flow is not good and hence the repair takes longer.......i wish i could make that sound more intelligent but hopefully you get the point.

he has 3 weeks till finals plus 3 more weeks or 4 more weeks into finals if we get that far im sure the achilles aint that bad, he will be back. wont take another 6 to get over an achilles

He's got two weeks. If he can't get back, then write him off. He ain't coming back during the finals.

Yeah i agree.

I used to consider a WOJO a key component to our team a few years back with his ability to break the lines....but he's just a passenger now really and not a walk up start.

I hope it's not season ending. I think people are underestimating the important role he can play.

I think back to a couple of weeks back against Hawthorn where it was noticeable to me we were missing two keys to our success. The first was Milburn whose composure, marvelous reading of the play and sublime foot skills were really lacking.

But the second was Woj. At times we were pinned down in our defensive 50m and it really cried out for someone to take the game on and to run and breakdown Hawthorn's zone. With Scarlett tied up with Franklin and with no Wojcinski, our two main proponents of this strategy were missing. I thought it really showed and in our next encounter I'd really like to see a different approach both tactically but also with the inclusion of Woj pending his recovery.

Thats a terrible call. Wojo is not a passenger, he is super important in breaking the lines with his speed and ability to take the opponent on. He's a walk up start in my book.

collingwood standards

ho hum, both will be back if they are fit, nonsensical post

Collingwood standards? So do you think the same rules apply for all?

No, it isn't non-sensical. Past premiership sides are littered with good players who didn't make it. You're out of your mind if you would rush him back for a PF.
