Yes Bomba has been overseas for a few months, and his return is still a while off, he's travellin' with a mate he went to school with and luvin' it over there atm ...

He's had a big rest and the fire will be burning in the belly, he was set for a massive season in '05, he was fit and bulked up ... even though he's 25, he could be the equlivilant of a first round pick for us in 2006!

Sando and Rooke out of the back half, Wojcinski and Callen in ...

Pace may be slightly affected, however I wouldn't be surprised if he bulks up incredibly and becomes a more physical player to counter his lesser pace in the coming seasons? - something to think about.

Rooke out? You have got to be kidding. Sando out, Monica in. That is the only change that will happen. Timmy is not up to senoir footy yet. Rooke on the other hand has been solid for us all year and one of our most consistent players.
 
Why doesn't anyone like Rooke for?
 
Lol - guys dont get me wrong im a big fan of Rooke, but the wraps on Callen are he'll be a very very good player for Geelong, I'm suggesting that he and Woj could be included into the back half next season to give a little more run out of defence ... correct me if im wrong but Rooke isn't the best running defender going around at the Cattery?

Cant be too slow, he kept up with Judd all weekend very successfully and he is very fit. Second to Ling in the Beep test.
 
Geeze I'v only joined a few days ago and already something has becom very clear - ppl put words into ur mouth to make good arguments.

When the hell did i say he was slow? i said he's not the best running defender in terms of rebounding the ball or breaking away and running the ball out of defence like Bomba and i rekon Callen could perform this pretty well also, look at the doggies how important it is to have good running halfbacks - Gilbee, Griffen, Gian - they're ripping it up because of their ability to run the ball out of defence and hit targets 2 lines further up the ground than when they first got the ball!

Sorry mate, I just think it is a little harsh to suggest the Callan could do better than one of our most consistent and best players all year. Callan has been given chances and he has not taken them like Rooke has.

Nah thats k, but if the only thing I can critisize Rooke for is he doesn't give much drive from defence ... that was what Callen was recruited for and surely he needs to give us something next season, if he can show enough i feel Rooke will be the member of the back 6 that gets dropped.

But then again, perhaps he could reinvent himself as a midfield run-with player after the weekend's performance.

His kicking's not the greatest, but he hides this fact by moving the ball quickly. His runs through the middle, taking everyone on and kicking long gives the forwards every chance of getting the ball, so he is generally in a good position to take his kicks so they don't need to be super accurate.
