Great result. Sydney! The preliminary final here is going to be huge.

But we've got nothing to brag about yet. We play an away semi final whilst Port get a home semi final. That should highlight the importance of finishing in the top four I've been talking about all year.

I reckon we can get up against Brisbane... We've done it before, and we're on a high, and they're coming off 2 hard weeks...

As for Sydney, well done today, but when was the last time we lost in Sydney?

I cannot believe we are actually paying much attention to what Port do or don't do

Port's loss means crap all to us. I agree it opens up the draw nicely for us if we can beat Brisbane but we still gotta do it.

Port are still a good thing IMO. God help essondon is all I can say.

I think it's called "what goes around comes around" But your right Stiffy we have our own semi in Brisbane to worry about up & should concentrate on that, but !!

If God does help Essendon this sat then God help Mark Williams as i don't think he will find to many friends down in Pap land if they bomb out once again,

Todays Port performance was comedic relief.

I agree. It was hilarious. They've been preparing for this game for 4 weeks. Their coach has been gloating ... but they still havent learn their lessons from previous years. Astounding!

The funniest bit about their preparation these past 4 weeks was their practcing at timewasting in the last minutes of games.

Big help in finals for Port ... NOT !

As Tim Lane pointed out, after showcasing the time wasting to the football world in recent weeks, it was ironic that Port were the ones in a race against the clock.

And indeed, their opponents were the one's time-wasting. Albeit by creating ball ups and throw ins rather than kick to kick.

Geez, I don't care how we go in Brisbane, I'm just so happy the nasty boys lost!!!

That took the smug look off Chocko's face. :p

I think I'm happier today than I was after our win yesterday, sick little person that I am :D

I agree that it means f*ck-all to the Crows chances unless they can beat Brisbane up in Brisbane, which is a huge ask.

If we could get past Brisbane, I think it does open up our chances of winning the flag. We always match up well on Sydney and have a very good record on them, and if we were to win that one, then it's a crack at a GF.

But the Brisbane part is the hard part.

Disagree about Port though Stiffy. They aren't a good thing in any final. Their season could well be over this week, as their minds must be really starting to play tricks with them now. They'll never win 3 in a row.

Collingwood look like the good thing at the moment.

I just cannot believe that a lot of our supporters are still concerned as to what is going on down Alberton way. Who cares, :p we need to concentrate on our own chances. And god knows we have a lot of things to concentrate on. If we are to beat Brisbane we once again have to have 100% efforts from EVERY player on the field. We laso need to tidy up our skills big time and have a lot of goal kicking practice (Wayne Carey take notice). As well as we played against WC, if we play exactly the same way we don't have much of a chance. Our skill level was poor and only was made to look good because WC were dead set shocking.

RE: Port, they have a too good a list to be written off. I still rate them and I reckon they are a good thing for GF. They will come out firing against Essendon. Choko will really need to earn his money against Sheeds. Too good a list to screw up as bad as last year. Should make GF.:(

Sheeds is the best in the business, cant wait to see what mindgames he puts on the power this week..should be entertaining.

And yes im extremely happy port lost today...I was 200% confident we would beat the eagles so it was no great buzz getting the W, but Port choking again....man thats priceless!

I got a 1 word email from a Port mate at work 1st thin last Monday morning - "chokers" after our showdown loss. I reminded him as a Power supporter that it wasn't wise to use that teminology with their finals coming up this week, as they were in no better position than last year. I reckon he may take a sickie tomorrow, rather than facing the music!

No problems noddy, as I really don't care as life is so great!!! :D

BTW, I have just emailed a colleague who works next to a Port mate that she better go easy on him today. Another Port mate I had concerns for his well being, so rang to check that he was still alive. We better do the right thing by our Port friends & go on suicide watch today. ;)

Ridiculous post.

This means you are not a football supporter but someone who takes pleasure in other people's misery.

Stop gloating everyone.

Lets just worry about our own team which is what matters.

We can go all the way. Bring on Brisbane,
