He was quiet in the first quarter. When he came into the game, WCE came into the game.
Yet no one has answered my question yet.

Did he swing the momentum of the game or did the other midfielders lift around him and bring him into the game?

i.e. As the No.1 Midfielder, is he a game chager?

Honest question and requires a bit of thought.

I havent watched the replay nor do I intend to(not keen on re-watching such a shit game) but from my limited memory, we didn't get back into it till Priddis went on those couple of runs through the midfield dodged past a few guys and hit up leading targets. Shuey had a nice couple of minutes too from memory and a great goal.

Priddis was down on his clearances yesterday which sucked because we needed him to get as many as possible with Kerr out. Thats the only negative I found of his performance yesterday.

Plays allot of minutes but he is not our number 1 midfielder. There are allot of midfielders that play allot of minutes but are not there teams number 1. Other then minutes what makes you think he is our number 1 midfielder?

Its pretty obvious Kerr is our number 1 midfielder IMO.

He definitely lifted but no I do not believe he swung the momentum of the game. Not sure if any single player can change a game but if you had to name someone then I would have said Naitanui or Gaff would come to mind.

Is he a game changer in general - well when Carlton had all the momentum a couple of weeks back in the 3rd term I thought Priddis more than anyone else turned the game back our way.

I've rewatched the second half and I will say this.

Gaff was everywhere in the first 10mins of the 3rd. Naitanui was awesome for the whole quarter. And Priddis did have a real impact in the qtr - he hit up LeCras a couple of times, Kennedy once, and did a lot of good work in contested ball.

Not a game changing contribution, but an important one. I'll put up my hand and say I missed some of Priddis' good work watching it live. (NickNat does have a mesmerizing style about him :p)

I still stand by my criticism of his performance though. Your no.1 mid has to impose his will on the contest, and at no point did Priddis do this.

Very interesting question.

If we cannot win the ball out of the middle with whatever rotation we have going the first guy (assuming he's not in there) I want to see on the ball is Priddis.

If we have momentum and are winning the clearances the last guy (excluding Mackenzie, McGinnity, McLovin obviously...) I want to see on the ball is Priddis...

What were the thoughts on Priddis Game? I though that he only got 14 posessions was a bonus. Meant that his bog ordinary disposal didn't sell his team-mates into trouble, the exact person you least want to have a high posession count.

C'mon mate the topic is dead. POSTERS EITHER WANT TO SPEND TIME WRITING HOW GOOD HE WAS OR shite he is. With the posters spending the next 5 pages slagging each other off. The topic should now be officially called Poster Baiting

Good first quarter but Crowley absolutely owned him otherwise.

I wonder how long it will take teams to figure out that Shuey needs to be tagged first (esp. with Kerr out). Sydney is the only team I have noticed who identified Shuey as the more damaging player.

That roving goal in the first looked pretty good. Maybe there is hope he can add a HFF dimension to his game. It would allow more time for our young inside mids to develop on ball and also add some versatility for when he gets tagged out. It may even be necessary if we are to take the next step.

If Shuey was getting tagged do you really think he would get any of the ball? Get off it. Priddis is required and generally performs even when tagged. When Kerr comes back it really does give us options...

Interestingly although primarily still starting as a centre square mid, it is no longer a given and a handful of times a match for the last month or so he has lined up on a HFF. Too early to tell whether it has worked but definitely seems to be venturing inside 50 a bit more these days.

Yep, liked that they've tried to make him more versatile, not sure that he has been good enough in that role though. His tackling pressure/intensity doesn't seem as sharp as in previous seasons, and he needs to focus on that part of his game when playing HFF.
