DOCKERS!!
In my view, I don't think anyone can go past Slipknot's Joey Jordison. Anyone who saw his solo on Disasterpieces would have to agree with me. He is just awesome, I don't know how he does it. The Arch Enemy drummer gets that bass kicking, but is slightly repetitive. Also, the Tool drummer is unreal.
By the way, expect a follow up to IOWA early next year. They said they wanna focus on their 'old' style of music, which would most likely be related to (sic), Eyeless, Spit It Out, Liberate etc.

SLIPPERS ALL DA WAY!!!!

Why not Joey in that list??? At least whack in Raymond Hererra

Nick Barker, ex Cradle of Filth, currently with Dimmu Borgir. He sh*t's all over Joey Jordison. This bloke is an absolute FREAK! Twice as quick as Jordison.

Martin Lopez of Opeth is also an awesome drummer.

Gonna have to disagree there. Joey plays such a wider varitey of beats, while Barker pretty much just pounds the sh*t out of his two bass drums, which sounds f*cking awesome. But Jordison is by FAR the better all-round drummer.

Have you even heard Nick Barker play?

Check out his work on "Puritanical..." and "Death Cult....", the last two Dimmu albums, and you will see he is twice the drummer Jordison is.

Certainly not technically the best, but my favs are Phil Rudd, Alex Van Halen, and Chad Wackerman. As far as metal drummers go, I reckon Paul Bostaph takes the cake.

The guy from Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy i think his name is.

No offence, but i think he's one of the most overrated drummers. Check out Mike Mangini (Steve Vai), or Terry Bozzio if prog-rock is your thing.

Chris Franz from Talking Heads. One of the most laid back drummers I have ever witnessed.

Just watched the "Stop making Sense" DVD and couldn't believe the work this guy does with a minimum of fuss.

Loved Dave Grohl's work with Nirvana, and Rob Hirst with the Oils

Danny Carey - Tool
Keith Moon - The Who
Cliff Grigg - V Spy V Spy
William Goldsmith - Sunny Day Real Estate ( Not the Poo Fighters stuff )
Stewart Copeland - The Police
Barret Martin - Screaming Trees / Mad Season

I dis-agree. His drum work is fantastic. I don't thinks he's the best, but he certainly isn't overrated.

Forgot to mention Clive Burr, formerly of Iron Maiden.

Did the first three albums before quitting the band due to a debilitating illness. He's still alive and (relatively) well but unable to play drums.

Nicko McBrain has played on all Maiden albums since 1983's "Piece of Mind", but IMO Burr was better.

His work on "Killers" (second album, 1981) is outstanding.

Agreed, Clive Burr had more energy in his playing. Though as a drummer myself, I'd say Nicko is technically a better drummer.

He is absolute sh|t.

He should be locked in hell with a metronome for 5000 years before he's allowed anywhere near a drumkit again.

It's called a time signiture change mate. That sort of music is full of 'em. Just because he doesn't spend all day on the double kick doesn't mean he is crap.

Try playing some of those polyrhythms he plays and tell me how **** he is. Idiot.
