I always knew Heath Shaw would come back well. And Maxwell is nothing if not all heart, so I suspected he'd get the job done also. But Daisy is a touch player who can sometimes struggle to find the slot. I'm concerned about the three week lay off he's had. Will he be rusty??

I doubt he'll be rusty, plus he's still getting the ball in his hands and doing one on one contests during the week. He'll be raring to go, he was pretty much the in form player of the competition at the start of the year.

nah just the injuried blokes... Reid Tarrant Toovey and Didak...if any of these have doubt i would hope they do not go into the next two games! Thats all i ask.. i do not want to see the sub used early on any of those players mentioned above.

???

Thomas will be enormous on Friday, can bank on it.

The bloke works harder than any other player on the team, he will bust his gut making a 80m lead to provide a link, then do a 60m chase that results in a turn over.

Thomas is made for finals....wrapped to get him back

You need to relax brother, deep breaths, we will win the flag and daisy will play a very big part.

The only negative for Thomas is that he may be a little rusty early with the footy in his hands, but you know his defensive efforts and his run will still be there.

He will run out the game well, as the rest would have done him the world of good, especially this late in the year.

If he can get through the first quarter without making too many skill errors, he'll be home free, and so will we.

He's nominated for All Australian for a reason after all, he is one of, if not the premier line breaking midfielder in the AFL, and he will show this on Friday Night, because he is also a big game player.

Daisy will be fine, Ben Reid will be our only real concern as to whether he can last the 4 quarters or not, because we will need him come Grand Final day.:)

I'm not even sure what this means. Thomas' greatest asset is what he does when the opposition has the ball, so he'll be perfectly fine.

Sorry, what I mean is this:

I feel the difference in Daisy this year vs the past is that he's been reading the play so much better. He's been getting into the right spots to be able to put his exquisite skills to best use. I recall earlier years where Daisy was running around like a chook with his head cut off (ok - that's a bit harsh!). I'm hoping Daisy will comeback circa 2011. We don't have much time to get him up to top gear. Somehow, I just feel it's going to be harder for him to find his best after the lay off than it would be for some of the others. Hope I'm misguided.

Relax brother... Let's just leave it up to them hope for the best then assess it for now it's one big act/puzzle no one can be sure till the prelim is done :)

i was ready to immediately write off the OP as a mindless rant, but i thought id check the stats.

the last time this happened was after his mid season suspension vs the swans. a tough game for the whole side, not just thomas.

anyway thomas had 18 disposals, 4 marks, 5 tackles - well short of his season average 25 disposals. but as matty pointed out, his tackling count remained.

IMO we have bigger things to be concerned with rather than daisys return. oh but have i mentioned none of those are of concern either.

good times.

There is no way known that we would leave out Reid, Tarrant or Toovey on GF day if they were "able" to play [if we make it]. We don't have the depth to cover any of them against a side like the Cats.

He'll be good. I'd be more worried about the form of Didak and Sidebottom.

Thomas always gives 110%, week in and week out. He will be ready to go, and the rest will enable him to run out the game better than the others.

There's nothing to worry about here guys. Just barrack as hard as possible on Friday night, get them over the line and then we are in another Grand Final!

He might be a bit fumbly, but that's fine. He'll be fit and will be providing ridiculous pressure to the opposition as always. That's something that doesn't go with a lack of match practice.

It's the players like Didak who rely almost entirely on their work with ball in hand to be effective that we should be worried about having a lack of match practice.

Confident Daisy will have a good game.

He's a big game player and and has been setting himself for this game for what seems an eternity now. He's going to be back up to his 2011 level quick smart. Hard at the ball, no silly mishaps and fingers crossed another stellar GF performance.

I disagree. Presti didn't play a gf due to an injury, yes of his own bat, he probably could of injected himself up limped out there, pardon the pun, but it was the right call considering the end result.
Reid was left out of the qualifying final and if he still isn't right you would hope he doesn't limp into a prelim and certainly not a gf.
I hope Reid recovers in time obviously though. You would hope any injured players are as honest as presti.
