Interested to see which game people think is the worst result we've had under Wallace. I've picked out the games which I feel are our worst performances under Wallace.

Round 1 2005 vs the Cats - Wallace's first game in charge and we played the Cats, who had secured Ottens in the off season. By the end of the game many a Richmond fan were walking away thinking what was all the hype about after we got spanked by 62 points.

Rounds 5 & 16 2005 vs the Saints - In these 2 games we went into games against the Saints with our tails up after recording pretty good wins in the weeks prior. Both games saw us get smacked by 68 & 69 points.

Round 1 2006 vs the Dogs - Headed into the season feeling very good about our chances and got smacked by 115 points.

Round 7 2006 vs Sydney - Went into the game with a 3-3 record ended up being smacked by 118 points. The only excuse was we were missing most of our senior player for this game.

Round 6 2007 vs Geelong - The massacre by Geelong. 157 point margin and left a real bitter taste in the mouth on many a Tigers fan.

Round 14 2008 vs the Blues - Our centenary celebration. Were favourites heading into the game with the Blues missing their captain in Judd. After leading for the first 3 quarters we capitulated to end up losing by 30 as the Blues ran all over us in the last. Another game that left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Round 1 2009 vs the Blues - All the hype, all the expectations, all the belief was washed away as the Blues belted us by 83 points.

The massacre against Geelong is so far ahead of everything else on that list.

It was cruel to watch and basically was the making of Geelong realising what it takes to be an elite team after a slow start to the season, while we squandered and spluttered and finished stone motherless last.

Yes, that Geelong match was the first time I switched off the TV at half time.

In fact I remember it well because I ended up going and doing soemthing with my mrs at the time ... I think that is a pretty good gauge of how disgraceful a performance that was :o:p

I honestly reckon we surpassed all of those other tragedies last Thursday.

When you consider where we are meant to be as a club... with expectations of an improvement this year, with the build up etc... it takes my cake.

As horrible as the Geelong ream-out was, we were not exactly travelling beautifully before hand and remember it occurred 2 days after the Gasper balls-up which I have no doubt contributed...

last thursdays game was the worst of all those losses....

leading into the Geelong game we were already 0-5 the season was shot anyway. didnt we go as bad as 0-12 or something. beyond woeful.

I beleive we have a good list even a top 6 list. the list is not the problem its the players mindset and attitude that is th problem - disgraceful.
how do you fix that

The utter failures while trying to make the 8 last year, notably being utterly smashed by Adelaide at AAMI and Sydney at the SCG, are unlucky not to be included.
Thats why I added the Other option as I was sure there would be plenty more games that people would pick out that got up peoples noses.

Bulldogs match round 1 was the worst.

Guys I was there, and it's the only time I've ever seen a side actually give up. If you think I'm being harsh, have a look at it again - if anyone bothered to keep the tape - and in the last quarter you'll see Adam Morgan (since retired) trying to encourage Gaspar to get to a contest. I'm not trying to cause trouble with this - it's just that it's true. Really the whole second half was like that.

All of the Dogs supporters around me (level 1 R/Seats) are usually feral during a game, but that night everyone was screaming "make a game of it" to Tigers players. Kind of bizarre being in the middle of that, to be honest...

I really thought that was a thing of the past for the yellow & black, but it sort of resurfaced on Thursday night.

Tigers supporters deserve a whole lot better than that.

Worst result under Wallace? Most of the meaningless wins we had when he didn't play enough youth.

Indeed. I still think people don't understand this. Neglecting to play more youth over the 4 years which seems like it will be a continued trend in his 5th while continually clogging the list up with duds like Hyde, Tivendale, Schulz, JON, Fiora, McMahon and many many more has pushed our development back many years and probably taken us back to square 1, where we started. Realistically in development stages, we are behind West Coast, Brisbane, Fremantle and even Melbourne because Wallet has gone about it all wrong.

I'm sure people would be happy to accept a new coach and another 2-3 years of pain aslong as it means we are taking the right road towards a premiership instead of being led down the garden path for another 5+ years by someone who doesn't deliver anything and still leaves the list in a horrible state.

The bulldogs game for me... I was in utter disbelief. I actually got on a plane at Perth and listened to the first 5 minutes and we were breaking even. Then we went out of radio contact and I landed at Melbourne and got off the plane and the first thing I asked my mate who was meeting me was 'so how'd the Tigers go?'. And he goes 'oooohh, not good! They said something about record score!'

The Geelong game was a travesty but by that stage I knew we were crap and I knew Geelong were bloody good. Every now and then good teams crucify shit teams, just like we crushed Fitzroy that last ever time in Melbourne.

The only reason I put the Bulldogs game ahead of the Carlton one is the margin was greater. Both times I went into the new season with high expectations and came away shell shocked.

As opposed to the meaningless wins we had under KB when we played too much youth. This set up a bad attitude in the players that lasted a generation due to getting selected without having to prove themselves.

But you probably weren't around then.

Gotta be Thursday night.

TW's had 89 games and four and a half years to turn us into a competitive unit, after Thurdays effort he's got 21 games to save his job, instill some mongrel, get the team back on track and restore our faith.

"A week is a long time in football" and the week is not over yet, so last Thursday for me. Never have I seen such a lack of endeavour and skills. Bitter taste in my mouth for a while yet I think.

But last Thursday aside, and where the more recent losses are concerned, I remember Adelaide the clearest, because the last nail went into the coffin of the 2008 season that afternoon.

THURSDAY NIGHT BY A COUNTRY MILE.

WHY

1) We finally have the cattle , players that Wallace has done a good job in developing himself. We are not a team of blatant kids any more like those previous thumpings.
2) The rivallry . The Richmmond , Carlton hate fest is very real because of their tanking and its next to being a battle of good vs evil. We should of been totally up for that game. The whole team should of been throthing at the mouth and ready to tackle and chase so bloody hard all night.
3) Just a really poor display of not giving a F%$k out their and not playing for your jumper or team mates.
4) We'd had 5 months to prepare
5) We all thought we were a stable club on all levels ready to jump up a further notch in our development being real finals contenders and it was a major let down.
6) It was just un acceptable for the occassion and heart wrenching for all us fans. Total disrespect from the players and coaching staff in regards to them selves and us supporters.

I just don't think alot of the players really understand what its like to be a Tigers supporter. maybe they should be taught our history and what we go through when they put in such performances.

Basically it like being a fat chick at a blue light disco but yet we keep rocking up every week hoping somebody will dance with us.

Geez, finally have the cattle? For a mid table-finish at best.

Not meaningless if you are playing sides with players that have the potential to be premiership players, as opposed to those that will never be good enough, ala Tivendale, Hyde, Krakouer, Schulz, Pettifer, Knobel, P.Bowden, M.Graham, K.Kingsley, McMahon, King, Polak....It then allows you to sort out those that aren't up to it and those that are. No point playing proven duds unless they are rucks IMO, as young players in that position really do need big bodies before they can handle it.

As for KB, I don't think you can blame him for the failed culture at tigerland. Goes much deeper and longer than that. Playing kids early doesn't seem to hurt Adelaide, or Collingwood, or Carlton....In fact it was a part of the reason to richmond's turnaround at the beginning of the 2008 season.

It HAS to be our centennary match against Carlton last year. To stand at Punt Road from 10am, watch our past players and footage on the big screen whilst sniffing the hallowed turf at Punt Road, then to move over to the G where we watched more past greats participate in a lap of honour with our glory days on parade for all to see... only to have that wretched dumb moron Fevola run a muck in the last quarter.

I felt physically ill after that loss. This game made me believe we cannot handle hype, therefore Thursday night didn't come as much of a shock as that did.
