I don't have to like every Swans player. They can be utter twats as long as they play good football and aren't a disruption to the team as a whole.

I have confidence we could make anything work...but the due diligence on any player with genuine addiction problems would have to be beyond thorough.

Having said that, the whispers coming from the West suggest the man has always been more focused on his personal performance and less interested in that of his team's even when he was in pique condition. Not sure how that outlook would work over here where the team is all that really counts if you want to wear Red and White.

I can remember saying that when it was first rumoured that Plugger might come to Sydney. Its a tough one. I think Ben Cousins is a brilliant player and if he gets through his personal problems who's to say he wouldnt be a model club man.

I would definitely not want him at the Swans. I doubt very much that he will be able to sort himself out.

I think that the cost required for the trade would be prohibitive - I also think the same for chasing Judd. It would be taking a huge risk in investing so much for him with a reasonable possibility it won't work.

If any club chases Cousins or Judd it will need to accumulate multiple first round picks. More than likely better off to pick up some of the action on the side - to get a first round pick to trade for Cousins a club may be prepared to release a good player.

I may be wrong but I thought Plugger's problems were mainly related to on field issues - that is getting suspended for big chunks of the season. The Swans got him to maage his anger and achieve his potential.

He's obviously getting the help now that he needs. Generally judging people purely on their background isn't fair. People can change and better themselves.

At 203cm and 102kg Everitt may indeed lay claim to being the biggest ******** in the comp.

However the Eagles have several individuals who are much better at being a ******** than Everitt. Cousins, Hunter, Kerr, Sampi, Gardiner, Fletcher, Chick etc.

Indeed the Eagles have so many ********s that surely it can't be just pure luck. Maybe the Eagles have advanced ******** training for their new recruits. Perhaps they have a ********s Only Policy.

I am fifty and seen too many lives destroyed by drug addictions - including alcohol. When younger, a lot of my generation were drug users. Most were able to keep it on a casual basis but the ones who became addicted generally led short sad lives.

They also destroyed a lot of their closest friends and family. This peson may have had their attitudes developed through such an experience.

After about 6 months to a year of this something finally happened that made him relise that they needed some help. So they checked into rehab. For a year after that they stayed sober, but then relapsed. A while later and they checked themselves back into rehab. 3 and a half years and later and they haven't touched any alcohol or drugs. I've met this person before, during and after all of this. He has always been a decent and genuine man and definately not 'the lowest form of life'.

I know this isn't the case with all drug addicts, but making a comment like 'lowest form of life' is WRONG. Every case is different..
