Imagine if Melbourne finished last and we got the number 1 draft pick. Chris judd says that he wants to play for us as his preferred Victorian Club. We then pick him up with our first choice in the PRE-SEASON draft and still have our number 1 pick in the national draft.

Would you be happy?..or prefer us to rise to say 10th on the ladder and show some fight?

**** Chris Judd. There, I've said it. I might be alone on this but I'd rather see fight - this playing for draft picks rubbish is the lowest idea around especially when the draft is there to save clubs like us who don't have the funding to compete with the "big four" and the interstate sides and would (see 1965-1986) spend most of the time getting murdered by everyone if there was an open market on players.

Sure, I'd like Chris Judd on some shonky freebie deal. I'd also like to win the lottery and use the funds to crush the hopes and dreams of my enemies but that's not going to happen either.

Its a fair old fantasy that is worth a few nights at least.

However, the bed sheets don't wash that fast and there are still 17 rounds left for us to win, win 12 of those and we make the finals.

Once we are officially out of the race, I will start considering the Judd deals.

yeh for sure, we still have a chance dont give up yet, infact we are a good chance this week imo with big nieta back :thumbsu:

I would never, ever advocate tanking.
No matter how **** we are, we need to win as many games as possible. Tanking puts a bad attitude in the players.

Did Chris Judd say Melbourne wud b his preferred vic club?? anyway, i hate to see us sink that low, but then again we've been toying in the middle part of the ladder for a long time.

They already have bad attitudes MFc have a culture club problem .

I don't want to lose games, tank, finish last, whatever.

But if we were in that situation, the opportunity of getting Judd would be a massive consolation.

Won't happen though. We'll win some games and Judd won't leave.

We are not gone yet! I dont know what all this fuss is about, we have lost several key players in our line up, lots of them coming back soon. If we have a strong finish at the end of the season with a fit team, it gives us confidence going into 08! **** Chris Judd....I cant believe i just said that.

yes. pain is temporary, judd is permanent. should by no means give up yet though. richmond game is looking however like the new bryce gibbs cup. has anyone else heard that collingwood are going to table a massive offer for judd? i got told that and nearly cried...thats the last thing they need. imagine queens birthday and judd getting 60 touches (in black and white)

Why not give away our number pick - then when Neitz retires and there's no key forwards, and White retires and there's no other decent ruckmen we can have the world's greatest midfield who never get the taps and have nothing to kick it to up front.

I know he's not going anywhere but give me Pavlich over Judd any day.

I agree judd is over-rated. At the moment Daniel Kerr is the best midfielder in the comp.

You cannot say Judd is overrated that is ridiculous!

Melbourne shouldnt start tanking, we still have hope. If judd choice is to come to the dees then we will make it happen. It doesnt matter whether we have the 2nd pick in the draft or the 10th. If he wants to come they will make it happen.

Why would be want to leave the eagles anyway they could be more successfully than Brisbane.

Yes you can. Some people refer to judd as 'the messiah' and you'd have to give up the first 10 draft picks to get him. Thats ridiculous! If all 16 Clubs got to choose 1 player to have in their team, I reckon less than half would pick Judd! Because his value as a midfielder doesn't exceed the value of a Key position player. Ultimately, he is not neccessarily the most valuable player. Some clubs would choose Kerr. Some would choose Jono Brown. Some would choose Pavlich. Hawthorn would prefer to keep Franklin. Geelong would not trade Hawkins. If judd was clearly the most valuable player than these examples wouldnt exist. At this point in time Kerr is better.

Get Dean Cox and we're west coast of 2005 then we'd at least make the grand final.

You just have to look at the way Judd played in the last two Grand Finals. If he hadn't set such high expectations for himself, he would've won back-to-back Norm Smith Medals last year. It doesn't matter that he isn't a key position player, he makes West Coast's forward line look better than it is.
