Will Div2 be happy with no umpires? Especially in reserves and 18's
After playing in a league this season with club umpires (WRFL Div 2) I strongly advise all clubs to reject this proposal until the umpire ranks can cover all divisions and games. Causes nothing but issues.

Simple math - if the league gets 10 more teams in that's
5 more Seniors matches a round which is 30 more field umpires needed when you include reserves and 18's.
That's before goal and boundary umpires.
Where will the umpires come from? If the old RDFL clubs come back there won't be any Ballarat Umpires coming down to umpire.

Not sure if 2 divisions is good idea or not but if it did happen, based on numbers at the moment we would struggle to cover the extra games, nothing to say that we definitely wouldn't be able to do it, just it would be hard, it might actually attract more umpires who knows. It the moment the RDFLUA covers almost every single game in all areas which is better than most other leagues going around. We would hope we would be able to continue this even if the league did expand again!!!!
doesnt feel planned out enough at this stage ... a small 6-7 team div 1 would be great for season 09 ... get some extra management on board and make sure we can get on top of things ... then build from there
