Cats - do not make the same mistake as last year.

We stupidly went for "respectablility" in 2003 and took another midtable finish. Ended up with mid-table picks - and hence end up with more mid-table results this year (if not worse).

Forget winning games this season NOW. Bite the bullet now - Take the priority picks - take the spoon- take the pain... and forget 2004. These measures should have been taken in 2003 after the 1-7 start.

Write it off now - don't make the mistake of winning 6 or 7 games - everything must be done to ensure we do not win more than 5 games. The only way this current list is going to even look like being contenders is to stock up with first rate picks and not the leftovers.

We are competitive... but scoring 10-14 goals a game is not going to get you into the 8.

As much as it pains me to write this and as much as I would love the Cats to fight against all odds and get somewhere by finishing a "respectable" 11th or 12th and picking up number 7, 14, 20,22 draft picks... it just aint going to happen.

1 year of pain... could be all it takes to turn this misery around.

As much as I despise St Kilda, and what they stand for, and what they have done, they have taken a 3 year hit, reinvigorated their list, and look a genuine threat. Our list is more workable - 1 year should be all we need. Do it NOW Cats... forget 2004. FORGET IT NOW - before it's too late. Take the picks.

It is looking like we do need a absolute ****zen year to become competitve and it also looks like this is the year. Dont expect the club to lay down, they cant afford it media wise, membership wise & also bomber cant afford it unless they give him a guarantee

Basically what im getting at is the club wont come out and say its gonna lie down because it cant afford it financially. Then we have to wait a few years for the next bunch of kids to come through and so on...

I agree, 3 losses to start the season and a swag of injuries to key players leaves our season all but over, and we're not even half way through April as yet! Unfortunately for Geelong, finishing 9th-12th gets teams nowhere in this competition, but as Sammy D already said, Geelong can't really afford to be a bottom side financially.

...which is why we the members) need to back them through thick and thin.

Success would come through 30k+ members plus a few years in the cellar (picking a few choice wines)
