Something strange is going on with the scores this year. That just doesn't add up to me:thumbsd:

Andy C and i have been telling people on another thread which BF closed that S C is rigged or the people running it and the rules are not right .
I saw the Hawks / Port match and K Cornes should have cracked the 100 easily but didnt. He had great stats plus the smothering , blocking and was influential .
Now people may take notice that we are right .

Can someone tell me how this works?:

Rodan 28 pos @ 71% efficiency 9 kicks 19 handballs 1 goal 1 behind 4 tackles 1 clanger = 112SC

K Cornes 26 pos @ 92% efficiency 13 kicks 13 handballs 4 tackles 3 clangers = 68SC

On top of that Kornes took the oppositions best player out of the game.

dont think they give stats/points for negating players. Presti would be worth heaps otherwise.

I though Rodan was better than cornes really. Much harder.

So going head to head with a teams best player, beating him, gaining 26 possessions at 92% is worth a luke warm 68? Something is not right. I agree with the guys saying that the SC scoring is screwed.

From watching the game, my guess would be that most of his possessions were uncontested and either handballs in the back line or short kicks

Dont know how you'd measure negative tactics (tagging). It would be a very hard thing to measure. Maybe they do it to some degree, doubt it though?

But I wouldnt say the system is screwed. Its not a perfect system. You do get your WTF moments, but nowhere near as much as DT for me. I woulda given kane an 80 ish somewhere. But he gotta 68 (tough break for me). I just take the view it all averages out in the longer term and that in the end you do get a fairly accurate measure of a players ranking. Certainly more accurate than DT anyhow, which couldnt even get ablett's rank right last year (he was clearly no.1).

K Cornes: 23 uncontested possesions, 3 contested
8 uncontested marks, 0 contested

That pretty much says it all... He didn't effect the game enough to warrant a higher score.

Rodan probably get plenty oh hardballs, clearances and long kicks (didnt see the game, but when hes on thats usually his style) and i'm assuming Kane just would have had his usual useless 20 metre chip kicks and open possessions (just a guess)

Rodan had 2 more contested possessions, 5 more clearances, 2 more goal assists, 1 more goal, 2 less free kicks against, 2 less clangers.

Also Rodan killed it in the 3rd and 4th quarters, Kornes did jack. Therefore when the game was won Rodans points were weighted more highly.

Stop your whinging. He got easy possessions, simple and thus wasn't as effective as players who scored more than him. Go and play dream team if you are going to whine like a little baby every time you get a bad score

Just looking at the basic stats is not enough in supercoach, You can see how Rodan did so much better just from these crucial stats.

Sorry hero.

I thought this was a thread about Kornes score being screwed.

I'm just fed up with people on here complaining about SC scoring. DT scoring is dodgy IMO and doesn't represent the true efficiency of a player.

they complain bc they're noobie SC players.

that however, doesnt give them the right to say the SC system is flaw.

i agree that these knobheads should just follow DT - SC seems too complex for our fellow posters.

It just doesn't work like that mate. It's not all about the numbers. I didn't see the game but maybe Rodan got all his stats when the game was there to be won. That's worth more than just the standard 4 points for a kick. Likewise, the kick to kick/keepings off when the game is over is usually worth zero points.

You don't always even get points for an effective kick. If it is to a contest within 40 metres from you, you get nothing. If that sounds like the majority of Kane Cornes' kicks, then you're close to finding your answer.

There are so many variables to SC scoring. If you want to be given points for just racking up numbers, then this isn't your game.

I would consider:

Kornes, Priddis, Stanton in DT but never in SC - refer to my signature....

I spend 95% on SC and 5% of my time on DT, I have already made my trades for DT before team are out, but will not make my trades for SC until teams are released on Thursday...

Why?

SC is the real deal and DT is my training ground
