England 1-40, 432 in the first innings. 4-315 the innings before that and over 300 in the previous innings.

And Brett Lee bowls on. 8 wickets in 4 1/2 tests at 60. And it's not as though England wickets have been hard to get.

For 5 years it has seemed that bolwers are turned over at the drop of a hat but batsmen have to work hard to lose their spots. Suddenly, it's the other way round.

And still too much rests on McGrath and Warne.

The same story in India: on a good pitch, the Aussies don't seem to have the right attack to get batsmen out.

Seems to me that over the last few years, a lot of the best innings have been against Australia: Laxman, Lara, etc. Batsmen who go out and attack can really get to them.

And does anyone else think Steve Waugh's field placings are too attacking?

These are small gripes in a way: the Aussies are a great team (how good is the batting at the moment!) with a great record and Waugh is a very good captain. But

But....I think you are having a whinge about nothing. Australia crushes the pathetic Poms by an innings - what a week display by the Pommies.

I agree about Brett Lee - last night he attempted to bowl 5 yorkers in a row!

But the rest, well the result speaks for itself! The attack didn't seem to be having too many problems last night!

brett lee should play no doubt in the 1st test v NZ

BUT

he should have been dropped for the recent 4th and 5th tests

i think warne put in a phenomenal effort in the 5th test, but too much reliance on him.

how is brett lee going to learn without a setback here and there.

is he turning out to be another shoaib akhtar, all pace and little precision?

a word on slats. if he doesn't get a test in the next 6, he might be gone. martyn is here to stay, and ponting seems to be stable now, although our two current openers shouldn't get too complacent.
