I was so frustrated and angry today.WTF was that about guys. Why can't they chase anymore.A tackle anyone.

We play like that we can kiss a home final away, and even winning any final. It was pure rubbish.

Mind u Goldapink was at his usual best, but that shouldn't have mattered. We failed to turn up again.last week I put down to a blimp, but 2 in a row of pure crap, not good enough guys.

You get paid to play football, not too watch it.

Rant over, I feel a little better now.

i agree we won grand finals on the back of our hard tackling and giving no easy kicks but now we zone off so far their is no contest till its in the opposition forward fifty - absoulute crap !!! we are a shamble at the moment
its time to have a go if you havnt worked it out yet the opposition sides do not feel scared anymore they KNOW they can beat you lot. lift it this week or its a waste of a season we will get wacked straight out of the finals

Bad luck today guys, but I feel WC are just one of those teams that seem to match up better on the Lions than any other side.

We seem to have the midfield to encounter your fab four, plus our KPPs are starting to get the experience and play better football as the weeks go by. We have now beaten the triple premiers in the past 3 matches against them and I am pleased with the way the young eagles are developing.

However, I still say the Lions are the team to beat for the flag. Best of luck for the rest of te season.

I tend to agree with what Goldenblue had to say..
Our young KPP's are starting to develop and on the back of our midfield have the team that are just perfect to go up against the Lions..
Brisbane are still the team to beat for the Flag.. You still have the 2 power forwards in the comp to come back, and that will give your midfield something to kick to, which i think you really missed today..
Just remember, your midfield and Spine is the benchmark of the AFL.. Every other team in the AFL prides itself in beating Brisbane.. Keep up the good work in the run home and in the finals.. Hope you can make it 4 in a row, cos even though i live in melbourne, i dont want a vic. side to win the Flag..

Nice to see the Eagles fans gracious in victory.

I thought there were some positives out of the game .We kept the eagles to 12 goals with an unorthodox backline with Leppa and Bradshaw going from end to end.

and Keating is looking good. He started to run into some good form during the game took a great mark in the forward line. Another game against the Hawks and he will be primed for the saints.

I think it is ok. We will have to knock off the saints to secure second and hope Port drop a game to finish on top. 1st or 2nd will be great and will give us every opportunity to go all the way.

Once again I must say that Brown must really understand the damage a stupid act against the Bulldogs has caused the team. We have dropped 2 of the 4 games and he must now stand and deliver in spades. He would have been the difference yesterday.

We'll be right lads, I suspect Matthews has given them a tough forthnight on the track in preparation for the finals. He probably would have thought we would drop one of Syd or WCoast but not 2. This will benefit us in the long run, still 7 weeks of footy left afterall.

One last word, the umpiring was an absolute disgrace, every time we got close another crap decision was brought out. Still I think the Eagles deserved the 4 points.

I think that the umpiring had something to do with it. Nearly all the freekicks went to WCE.

Hi guys. Am new to this but needed someone to talk to after yesterday's disaster  A question. I'm confused. How can we get to a 2nd spot even if we win the next three? If we knock off the Saints, we still have Geelong - who are breathing down our necks - to contend with. Can we really expect Port and Melbourne to drop a game? What do you think.

I have a really bad gut feeling about our prospects for a 4th flag ..........

Firstly we need Melbourne to drop a game, which is likely. If that occurs and we beat the Saints are percentage will be far too superior for Geelong and likely to be better than the saints.

Thomas was unhappy with the saints on the weekend as he knew percentage was going to be a factor.

We will get there if we win all the remaining games, even if Melboune managed to stay ahead of us finishing third is not too bad as we would be playing first round at the G.

Wow,.. Joined in Aug 2003 and this your first post. You must be hurting ;)

Good to see. Welcome.

I guess things aren't that bad when we're all bawling about potentially missing our 4th flag on the trot.

Although the free kick count was against the Lions, you still have to pay them regarless of the free kick count. Although it is well noted the frees that the Coasters earnt, some of them were paid due to a couple of Lions players losing their cool, so those players have themselves to blame for giving away free kicks.

Overall, the umpires were good at times, shocking at others, but that's the way it goes with sub-standard umpires.

That dropped game may come from the lat round where WC plays Melbourne at Subiaco. If we win the next 3, we are in the finals and with Carlton at subi this weekend, the Dockers who are falling apart at Subi, then the Dees, I am hoping we win all 3 and sneak in.

Our finals chances depends on us beating the Dees at home, though we can't take them lightly as they do have a good record interstate.

:D
I would think that the Dockers would cream you guys. Those derbies are always a firey little game.

As for the umps, Goldspink should just give it away.He was woeful in the extreme yesterday,he wasn't even signally what the free was for, when he was giving the shoclers he did.Says it all to me.

I don't know, they looked pretty damned good against Carlton.

So what they let one slip, I am sure they will be fired up and ready for the derby as they always are.

actually they've let 5 slip at home this year.....

but you're right it will be a fired up clash as they always are

You're right. Not all that bad at all and need to keep football in perspective especially when you consider the tragedy on Swans bench. It's just that you get this momentum going every year. The first premiership...... WOW great! The second - back to back- FANTASTIC! The third ...... an idea begins to form .....we could create some history here - BRILLIANT! A fourth - you just can't help but be caught up in the creation of a 'legend' and 'mythology' surrounding it and ....... of course breaking Collingwood's record to boot! - UNBELIEVABLE!

Pffft....If you can't recognise a changing of the guard, then you may be the one who may be ahead of himself. ;)

Need more than 4 to break the record.

Yes it would equal their record, but pies fans can always come up with a new record they hold.

* Least amount of cheersquad teeth 55 years running

*Most males playing a game of twister at Eddies Christmas Party(nothing suss of course)

And it was great to see that they can still "mathematically" get beaten by Brisbane again this year , and be the reigning most losing consecutive grand final record holder.

Doesn't 4 in a row break Collingwood's record of straight premierships?

No, they won 4 from 1927-30. There was two Carlton sides, two Melbourne sides and Brisbane that have won 3 on the trot. It was almost all in the first half of the last century, of course. The last one to do 3 (Dees) won the last in 1957.

At least we can claim this millenium! :)

Hehe,... nothing suss at all..

Actually the consecutive losing GF's thing they probably already hold on a countback. South Melbourne, Richmond, Essendon and Collingwood have all 'lost the 3-peat', but the Pies have done it twice, so you'd have to give them the nod ;)

They were shocking last Sunday. It will be worse this weekend. Grun Schmitt and Wenn
