Similar to the one on the SC board.

Considering the discussions we've had on our best 22 and the struggle most of us have had in making it, this is the thread where we head two players on the list and see who people would take over who for a place in the team.

Probably more relevant to the youngsters, anways i'll kick things off with two my favourite players

Steven Browne V Dennis Armfield.

Betts v Garlett?

Hampson v Jacobs?

Betts at the moment has the 'runs on the board' and is into his 4th or 5th season at AFL level, he's definitely better than Garlett at this stage.

Jacobs vs. Hampson is a tough one, I think Jacobs is in front.

I would think Yarran V Betts would be more of a question
Browne and Army are different kind of players I would have thought and may be able to play in the same defensive unit.
The big question now is we have too much choice at ruck. Will Warnock make the grade with what we have seen in the NAB?

Betts vs Nate Robinson is a better match up then garnett IMO :p

Nate Robinson would eat Eddie for breakfast. Faster, stronger, MUCH higher leap. Nate was a VERY good football (gridiron) player and i think he held a track record in college also. He's also ripping up the NBA at the moment.

In fact, lets give Nate a call, i reckon he would be an absolute nightmare small forward.

And I keep hearing that we have plenty of room in the salary cap as well..... I'm sure his multi million dollar a year contract would fit under the cap :D

With the Browne v Armfield debate, we have to remember Army is 2 years older then Browne and has a more mature body and more senior footy experience (WAFL). At the moment its very close and I reckon they both have something to offer to the team. Army is quite good defensively (and bloody quick) and therefore can allow our half backs to push forward more into the midfield. Now I have Army just in front but I rate Browne and reckon he will be a good option in our backline and hopefully out midfield in the future.

Browne definitely has him skills wise, though Armfield at the moment is faster and tougher. Depends really on the role required in the team for them.

I agree with that. But in the nab cup it does look like Armfield has improved his kicking over the off season with one top quality kick to Fev coming to mind against NM.

Improved for sure. But you can still see when he's running with the ball his first reaction is to look for the handball. Once he knows within himself that he's a good enough kick and he backs himself he could be a real player for us. Perhaps thats just him coming from a different sporting background in him a little?

Hey, good point, Attractive-Man! I'd forgotten his rugby background and that's exactly what he looks to be doing sometimes when he gets the ball ie. dishing off along the line. Wonder if he feels extra comfortable kicking backwards too?

They kick forwards in rugby :p

But yes he runs the lines very well just like rugby and does look to handball off sideways alot too. Coincidence? Who knows. Seeing some very nice things from him nonetheless.

Browne/Armfield - Armfield has more pace and Browne may lack a little. Especially now Armfields kicking has improved.
Hampson/Jacobs - Jacobs easily, Hampson can't ruck.
Betts/Garlett - Betts, garlett might need some gym work but it's a very tough one.
Fisher/Wiggins - Wiggins, fisher can't kick and isn't as hard at the footy.

I think posters should pair off and then pick their teams like you would if you had two captains picking their teams for school footy.

Team A goes first
Team B goes second
Team B goes third
Team A goes fourth
Team A goes fifth
Team B goes sixth and so on.

Will be interesting to see who is left to near last each time and do gets differing views on who is more important to our list.
