Hey guys,

I stupidly sold my ps3 a few months ago and now I miss the gaming! I plan on going out tomorrow to purchase an xbox360 mainly because of the foxtel on xbox feature... However! I am wondering, because I am back and fourth between my mums and my dads house. Can an Xbox recognize 2 separate internet connections without having to manually type in the passwords and what not each time I move the xbox from one house to another... I've search everywhere and can't find an answer! HELP!

I'm guessing you're talking wirelessly connecting your 360? If so, then I'm going to guess the answer is no (based on how the PS3 works anyway - I think).

Might just have to go with wired if you can? Or maybe get the one router and take that between both houses, so all you have to do is plug that in and you're away.

yeah talking wireless... the main reason I'm looking to take it between houses is for the use of foxtel on 360. Kinda annoying if I have to reconnect it each time I take it. there is separate routers at each house, so it would be convenient if I could take it up, connect it to the TV and sit back and watch/play

It remembers them, I have moved my xbox between my house and a friends house and have only typed them twice (1 at mine and 1 at his) Great Time saver it was as well.
Good Luck with your purchase

You can seriously only connect to one wireless account with a ps3? To the point where you have to take a router with you to connect up to the net?

Surely that's wrong...what if your router blew up and you needed a new one

No, I was just saying I don't think it remembers 2 at once. In that you'd have to re-enter password and such each time instead of it just being recognised automatically and connecting like that.

Oh right ok. Surely retyping a password would be easier than taking a router around with you.

I know a PS3 wont swap from wired to wireless and vice versa (anyone remember those chocolates? Man there were good} automatically, you need to re set that up. How ever I'm fairly certain it will detect wireless connections you've connected to automatically.

You regret selling PS3, you miss gaming. Yet you get a 360 for a non gaming feature

Ummmmm lolwut? Just grab another PS3 and save some cash from Live and Foxtel and get some games with the money.

Errm...maybe he wants to game and have the foxtel as well

Foxtel is only good for the footy, pay tv as a whole is overrated, especially with shows so easily obtainable over the net.

and i suppose there is always kinect "games" and 2 disc multiplats :p

My bloody phone can do it so surely a ps3 can

Nah it can't I'm pretty sure. I've had to do it a few times myself in the last 2-3 weeks, swapping between two houses with wireless networks. When you move it back to one you've previously setup, it doesn't connect, so I assume there's nowhere to edit/save multiple connections, I've just been going through the whole process again, so unless I've missed something? Pretty annoying if you want to setup static ip too.

Wow, that's stupid. As said, my bloody phone can auto-connect to my mates' wireless network without having to enter the password each time. Must be annoying having to set it up each and every time. Glad the 360 isn't like that.
