Dont feel dirty, we have exclusives that aren't for the most part MMOs and strategy games :thumbsu:

It's the only reason my Xbox and Ps3 are still there, for the odd exclusive... they pretty much just gather dust though. :P

Yep - there is a patch you must download when you first get the X1 - which makes the changes.

I believe MS were just prepared for any scenario - their plan A was to have DRM/24hr check in, but they had a plan B, which is what has been enacted.
I highly doubt they planned for this.

Otherwise all the shit they spouted wouldn't have been so ridiculous.

Doesn't really matter to aussie gamers but it sort of gives you an idea how the UI works.

Highly doubt it would ever happen but it would be awesome if there was an AFL version sometime down the line.

X1 controller hands on and comparison to the 360 controller.

Impulse triggers look like a great feature.

Will the NFL stuff work here in Aus?

Because it is the only TV feature I give a stuff about really.

I don't think they've said if the NFL stuff will work outside the US at a later date or not.

I'd wait until the end of the year when all game are announced, Sony still had 4 big studios which we haven;t heard form and know games are deep into development.

He has a few timed exclusives in there.

Also a lot of the development for these games was done on the Xbone was because the 360 was easier to work with, that will swing right around now. The only third party exclusives we'll see in the future, will involve a load of cash.

You've obviously forgotten how Sony executives treated their customers like idiots in the early stages of the PS3, their arrogant stance towards the price of the PS3 at launch (didn't one head honcho say that people would actually want to work overtime just to afford the console, lol?), and how they removed selling point features after the release of the console (OtherOS and Linux support) and didn't give a shit or listen to what anyone thought about it, then cracked the sads when people took matters into their own hands.

Sony aren't innocent choir boys either. Both these companies are as bad as each other.

But Sony didn't cave. They still lost money on the lunach on each console because they believed (rightly or wrongly) in the product they producted. If DRM was as good at it has been made out to be in the last 24hours why did MS not ride it out knowing that it is a marathon, not a sprint, and if their product was truly better it would bounce back like the PS3 did after lagging behind the XBOX360 initially?

I dunno, for me the poor way they handled it all suggests they knew it was going to change.

They were just so unconvincing with their PR, the quotes were all mixed up, misinformation, no one could give a straight answer - sure they touted the company line, but I reckon after they realised it wasn't going well + PS being praised + no one ordering an X1, they knew there was no point in answering all the questions because it was going to change.

We'll never know...

But Sony didn't cave(...)

Good point, but I'd imagine the pre-order figures were probably setting off alarm bells where they realised that there was no other option.

And with the team they put forward to try to sell the system, there's no way anyone was going to be convinced.

Apparently the family share was going to be nothing more than restricted one hour demos of other peoples games.

Just when you thought MS might have had something going with that old family share scheme......bait and switch mothergooses!
I just read something on that lol, not once did they mention this and led everyone to believe otherwise, ****in scum.

Happy now we don't have to worry about the sharing and what could have been.
Not all it appeared.

The only thing I have to complain about now is the 5 month wait...

I knew it sounded too good to be true to be honest. No way a company like Microsoft would allow something like the led everyone to believe.

It's pretty disgusting. As I said in a previous post, MS has been obfuscating the facts the whole way through. They are untrustworthy.

Maybe because MS knows that the damage had already been done. No matter what they said about DRM and always online - its benefits, what it could bring to the industry, etc - people had already made up their minds about it. Heck, XB1 had negative press before the console was even officially announced ffs. Maybe MS saw how much of a failure the PS3 was at launch due to the arrogant and stubborn nature of Sony and decided they didn't want a similar launch for the ONE? They are a business afterall, and if they didn't remove DRM and always online the next gen race would've been over before it started. At least this gen will now be competitive.

If MS think that DRM and always online has such great benefits, they'll probably try and re-introduce it down the track when people are ready for it, and the uninformed shitstorm that has gone on for the last few months is a distant memory.
