Xbox fans should listen to the latest edition of IGN's 'Podcast Unlocked'.

It is a special edition where they have Phil Spencer, Peter Moore & the guy who created the original Xbox on sharing stories from the last 15 years.

It provides some nice little insight into the their history. It makes for a nice distraction.
Just listened to it then, a good little time waster with some interesting insight.

Do I have to maintain my XBL Gold membership to continue playing games with gold games on X1?

I have the Day 1 500GB console. My 8 games amount to 265.2 GB, yet I only have 73.9 GB free (Used 80%). I have a couple of apps amounting to under 200mb.

Are there other things on the console clogging my storage that I can clear, or is that just how it is?

Apps take space as well, check that tab

Other than the default apps, I have the blu-ray player, Youtube and Media Player. Not really sure where I can clear a chunk of space from that.

The OS takes up quite a large amount of the space.

Your 500 GB Xbox One hard drive might fill up faster than you think. This is because your Xbox One's 500 GB hard drive can only technically store only 362GB of content. This is because the Xbox One reserves the remaining space for its OS and other unknown functions.

PS4 does this as well:

After tinkering with it, it turns out most of the space is available for games or apps. 407 GB of the 500 GB hard drive is available, with 93 GB of storage saved for the OS.

Get a ext HDD
I am planning to get the one you have that you linked in the thread ages ago. Don't have funds right now so was hoping to squeeze through without one for a little while longer. Doesn't look like happening.

Yeah I just bought the 1TB Xbox One (gotta have that matte finish) and I reckon close to 200GB was already taken by existing OS stuff.

So if anyone feels like buying a Day One edition console, hit me up!
