Umpiring almost ruined the game last night even though we probably got the better end of it. 44 free kicks in a game is a disgrace and made the game look a lot worse. Number 12 (?) should be shot. Does anyone know how many 50's there were?

i was furious with the umpires, & the inconsistent decisions which went in the Pies favour, and just as angry with them when we got BS free kicks that were barely deserved. at some stages u werent even sure whether they paid a free kick or not.

That was probably the worst umpiring display ive seen for a long long time. The most frustrating thing was the amount of obvious holding the ball decisions that werent paid. I remember one obvious one to Tarrant early on which wasnt paid, and about 5 minutes later the same thing happend at Geelongs end and they got a free. Also one on the boundry where the Geelong player tried a 360 spin past Scotty Burns and was tackled.

Terrible Umpiring, but If you have watched every AFL game this season, you wouldn't have started up this thread. The umpiring has been so inconsistent this year, and it is getting worse. What can you do about it? Nothing. When things come along that ruin a match, you just got to sit back in disgrace and watch. It is pathetic sometimes.

Just the quantity of frees that ********ed me off. The less frees the better.
They can be consistently good or consistently ******** but just be consistent.

I was sitting in Aisle 3 on the lower level and saw two incidents which show how bad the umpires are. Tarrant goes up for a mark and Scarlett grabs his arm and pulls him back out of the contest and the umpire is 5 metres away and calls play on. fast forward to 2 minutes into the last quarter. Cloke goes back and marks but Clement gets called for shepherding. The replay shows Clement and Mackie were just jostling. That goal Mackie kicked started teh ball rolling for the cats.
