Guys,
After much weighing up (mainly because it is so trite and boring!) I thought i may as wellpost my phantom draft. No real revelations here, so read it if you like, criticise it, but nothing new here. Where in doubt i have compared my original effort with footydraft and Burgatron to select most likely option. Where there has been concurrance across phantom drafts i have weighed this highly and gone with that. I got a bit sloppy towards the end of the draft as it is obviously harder to pick the later positions so i may not post beyond 40-odd. I might add some reasoning, but not about player attributes, that has been done better than i could do elsewhere.
1. Marc Murphy
2. Xavier Ellis
3. Josh Kennedy
(Hawks may consider Dowler, but will go with first option and safety of Kennedy)

4. Beau Dowler
5. Dale Thomas
(rumours are pretty strong, personally i wouldn't put him this high though)
6. Higgins
(Ryder is the obvious choice, but i think Hawks will take a gamble of getting McEntee later)
7. Ryder
(too good for Sheeds to pass up, plus will expect a flashy, quick mid to be available at 19)
8. Marcus Drum
(Clark would be in considerations, but Drum safer and will help out down back where they need it, plays taller than his in-between height because of long arms and reading the play well)
9. Shannon Hurn
(too good for Brisbane to Pass on, provide leadership down back, they will expect Lucy or Bower to slip to 25 as well)
10. Clark
(pendlebury and O-N in mix but Clark too good a talent to pass up)
11. Hughes
(IMO won't go with a Dempsey, etc... lost Bowden, Rawlings and Bandy, position must slightly win over talent here, no more skinny outside types)
12. Jones
(dees have shown plenty of interest and need a strong hard running inside mid)
13. Birchall
(with size and pace and no top KPP sliding, seems to be good fit for WCE)
14. Muston
15. Stanley
(pfieffer might be in the mix though)
16. Pfieffer
17. Varcoe
18. McEntee
(will compensate for not taking Ryder earlier)
19. Oakley-Nicholls
(Swallow might be a big chance here too)
20. Swallow
(Pendlebury, Bower and Lucy might figure as well, but Swallow too good to pass on and Blues seem interested, 19 and 20 might be intercheangable)
