That makes 5 different SKUs in 14 months since launch. Early predicitons are this version will remove games compatability

Just trying to make the machine as attractive as possible to the consumer i guess. 80 to 120GB is an upgrade. More than likely to match the 120GB HDD on the 360 elite.

Not really a surprise.

Probably see more of this in the future with modern consoles, little incremental updates without having to go to an entirely new console.

We've already seen it with the addition of HDMI ports and larger hard drives to the 360 in order to move with the times.

We can only hope they bring the 120GB PS3 out here in australia, rather than giving us only the 1 choice.

Not really bagging it, just trying to inject some discussion. It's not a bad package, and if it had hardware PS2 capability and was available in Oz, then I would seriously consider a purchase.

Actually I believe that the 80GB PS3 SKU was taken off the market due to poor sales.

Also it depends on what is considered a good game, I currently own 7 games, all of which I love, not to mention some huge releases to come within the next 2 months.

Yeah, looks like you'll need the HD space. Apparently DMC4 takes 5gb of room after a 20+ minute install for PS3, which lowers load times by 1-2 sec less than the 360 version.

Sony's version of some Wii technology. Unless they have invented a couple of extra dimensions and time-travel, it actually only works on 3 axes.

The 4th axis would be forward or backward in time, well it's the 4th Dimension anyway.
