Just read what she said at the Q awards. She's been reported as saying, "He [Lennon] often used to wake up in the middle of the night and ask me, 'Why do people cover Paul's songs so much, but never mine?...I used to tell him, 'It's because you are a talented songwriter. You don't just rhyme June with spoon. And you are a very good singer - lots of people would be too afraid to cover one of your songs'.

She seems quite delusional.
 
Massive egos killed The Beatles. Her comments suggest that Yoko was responsible for a part of Lennon's so that's her role (as much as a bit part as it is).

Yoko is a bit of an... idiot. Terrible musician and alway fairly bitter towards Paul.

This is just another snipe from Yoko and there is no feud as the media suggests, just Yoko playing childish PR boosting games trying to show the world that John was the best and Paul is inferior. both had more talent in one strand of hair than Yoko will ever have.

In later years it became evident that John was about to crack in response to Yoko's constant putting down of Paul. When John was praising Paul Yoko butted in with jealous and snide comments, John stopped and said "god woman, must you always have to carry that cross? that was years ago"

John would hang around with Paul and musical buddies when he seperated with Yoko on the lost weekend, but when they got back together, all ties were effectively cut off according to a number of close musician friends.

The two dont see eye to eye.

Now as for Yoko, she's been blessed with the 'creating history' syndrome that has also hit Paul McCartney pretty hard over the years. I quite like some of Yoko's art work and stuff, and her philosophies, however when it comes to the Beatles I tend to ignore her. And Paul nowadays really.

musical differences, strong individual ideas and directions. a nutopian business enterprise spiralling out of control and McCartneys odds with Klein (his suspicions turned out correct since the other 3 eventually sacked him and got sued by him later) were contributing factors.

John hit the nail on the head when he said in late 69 that the beatles had too much talent for 1 group that they would have to make a double album and who would want to sit around for 6 months making an album where each only had limited tracks, they needed outlets for these stockpiled songs, particularly George and going solo was the answer.

In the early solo days all their sales from albums were going into the collective apple kitty being a reason Paul called for the dissolution of the beatles in the high court. It painted him in a bad light, caused him a near mental breakdown, but in the end all the beatles thanked him.

It was a messy situation indeed.

Its fair to say Yoko should not be blamed however it doesnt give her the right to snipe McCartney in order to boost the Lennon profile, John is loved and respected so is paul and they were friends despite what everyone thought so its silly for Yoko to continue her hatred when she despised him moreso than John

Johns highest involvement with friends and other musicians came in the period they seperated, funny that

That doesn't really wash with me. John was highly critical of Paul's work in the latter days of the band e.g. his famous cracks at Let It Be and his comment that he wanted Come Together and Somthing to be a double A single so he didn't have to listen to the rest of the album. To me saying, 'who wants to sit around for 6 months to make the album?' isn't a strong point.

Not to mention it's an incredibly arrogant comment. If everyone's heads are screwed on (i.e. their egos are kept in check) then there is never too much talent.

Coming Up was the 1st solo beatle #1 of the 80's and John loved that song even sung to it live and praised it in interviews in 1980. Lets not be under the illusion that John has never written daft lyrics:

If you brought Maccas latest album you would find a consistant high standard of songwriting and musicianship but the Australian media wont tell you that just feed you with Yoko comments and which fur wearing model Heather is attacking.

Any song from Double Fantasy is evidence of John's daft songwriting. Many songs on that album are just as corny as anything Paul ever wrote. Double Fantasy has a lot of "silly love songs!!!!".

Yes but in fairness as well, Paul has undeniably changed parts of history to paint himself in a better light - even the biggest McCartney fans will admit to that! So from that way, Yoko has every right to defend John. Paul is my favourite Beatle but some of his behaviour of late has really soured that for me, sadly.

I'm not saying Yoko is an angel but Paul doesn't help his cause either with the way he carries on sometimes, that's all I'm saying. And I say that with the greatest respect for his music.
 
Yoko is an avant garde, a more accurate description of her music prowess is she "avent garde-clue" ;)
