Woot now the country can go further in to massive debt for a temporary boost to spending that will achieve nothing in the medium to long term.

Yayyyyyyyyyy

You little ripper - that's the credit card all but paid off, my winter clothes paid for, and the accommodation for the Essendon game taken care of.

Yippee, more of my tax gets wasted on plamas and winny blues.

Great move K Rudd you baffoon.

Much better if the stimulus package was spent on long term projects that actually have long term implications, not just a vote grabbing payment to the greedy masses.

Hooray lets plunge the country further into debt whilst creating no more jobs..... amazing how selfish people in this country are.

But Rudd is a magician who will fix everything

As much as I am happy to get this and it is really handy for me right now (and it is the first goverment handout I have EVER received in my life) I can understand why people are dead against it. It is not future planning at all.

Its called pissing into the wind and hoping it starts to rain.

wow, everyones suddenly a political commentator....

if you dont want it, send your cheque my way, i'll find a use for it.. :thumbsu:

Its not that I dont want it, I like many other can use this money to great effect, its just not doing the country itself any good. My $900 wont create jobs, and really considering im planning to save most of it, its not going to do much at all.

7 trillion global stimulus package. I don't reckon Rudd's effort will make that much difference to world indebtedness. Tell us your alternative master plan to solve the economic crisis.

But its doing sweet FA to help our country, so whats the point of it. Its driving our country further into debt.

it's probably not meant to create jobs, rather than keep job, if no one is spending then it makes it difficult for employers to keep staff i guess

Yeah thats very true. I guess IMO this money could have been spent better elsewhere, but its been given to me so I suppose I should say thanks lol.

Will pay for my car service and wine habit. Thats the only good thing about it.

But hey...general public will be happy they are getting free cash so I look forward to Krudd being PM for the next 38 years.

Part of mine goes to a mini skip for a clean up Wednesday Thursday

My big pakage hopefully comes in a month when i say goodbye to work after 28 and a half years

My unsolicited advice if you disagree with the package (as I vehemently do), donate it to your favourite charity. No one needs it more, and it is certainly better than shipping it overseas to Taiwan. You want to create more jobs or maintain job security? - look after small business with industrial relations concessions and cut payroll tax. Simple. But then Kev is not a simple man.

I just finished a political science degree so does that qualify me as a political commentator?

As a moderate with left leanings who voted for KRudd i am very much regretting this decision at present.

He needs to stop playing popular politics and think about Australia's future not his own.

Handing out cash is very popular and to the poor and less educated i know this seems fantastic, however bringing forward the july tax cuts, and putting money into long term infrastructure would have created jobs, decreased union pressure to increase wages, and kept unemployment to a sustainable level. Not the 10% level expected by the end of the year.

Money needs to be spent on creating a skilled workforce so those who are retrenched, have the ability to find employment.

You are not expecting a Labour leader to go against the unions are you? :)

Sorry Kev, but I am going to pay off debt when you stimulate me and my bank account in the near future. I appreciate the help, but I would have rather said thanks to a tax cut.
