I played against Sammy in juniors when he was at Hastings. He uses his stump to hold the ball somehow, and uses his other hand to fist the ball. there would be no problems with his game, rule wise.

Was a really gutsy kid and won the league best and fairest in the MPJFL. He really deserves a chance but I can't see any clubs picking him up. I would most likely think he will end up at Crib Point playing in the 1's with Lukey Herrington.

Don't be surprised if he ends up at one of the first division clubs.
Mt Eliza, Pines, Chelsea all having a look at him

When it comes to drafting clubs look at the potential for improvement vs. any potential risks. As wonderful as Sam has been to get to this level I sincerely doubt whether any club would see sufficient potential there to gamble a rookie list position on a player with what is a significant disability.

He's clearly been resilient enough to overcome that and not only live normally as possible, but excel. However, ultimately we are talking about elite sport with plenty of talented players each year overlooked or delisted. Any talk about him being drafted is romantic, but not realistic.

I heard Chelsea are chasing hard for him. I didn't know about Pines though.

Family connections at both clubs.

Goosey (Mornington) was keen on him too, before the Goose took up a position with an AFL club.

On a bit of a different track, I had never heard of him before this and to read about him and see the photo makes you think about all the times that you think its all to hard.

I mean who likes pre season? All the push ups?, the road runs? and all the other stuff, but seems like he does it all, must have a great view on life and would be a pleasure to meet.

His best attribute for me is his tackling. He is a machine when it comes to that aspect of the game.
He was invited to try out for the vic metro 18s this year. I was there for the squads practise match and witnessed the best tackling I've ever witnessed. He is unbelievable, best of luck to him!

The man called SNAKE, the bloke is a true legend. Being one of his best mates, the man can drink a can or two, after this years grand final he and a number of others went out hard on the sunday, but he is a true top bloke, loves his footy, beer and punting. And his sister looks alright aswell., but the bloke is a Legend
