I dont like keys in my death metal, because they tend to undermine the brutality of the song and tend to give it a more melodious (read: tame) sound. It also kind of adds to the fruitiness factor (Children of Bodom, anyone?)What have you folk got against keys? Keys add power and atmosphere, and some of the worlds most amazing and heaviest bands have permanent keysmen/women. The following bands have them: Rush, Opeth, SYL, Soilwork, Cradle of Filth, Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Nightwish etc etc....

Struggled to name any keyboardists? Interesting.
Jon Lord? Geddy Lee? Derek Sherinian? Tuomas Hallopainen? Jordan Rudess? Rick Wakeman? Liberace???

Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix.
Gutarist & Additional Vox: Richard Thompson.
Bass: John Entwhistle.
Drums: Keith Moon.
Piano & Additional Vox.: Jerry Lee Lewis. (The Killer).
Sax: Bobby Keys.

Who gets to tell Aretha she's back to doing harmonies? Bags not me.

Yeah, my friend saw em with Nile. He too said CoB were great live, although Nile kinda sucked hard :/
And although Im not the fan of CoB that I used to be, I will say that Laiho is a sick guitarist![]()
Hehe. I used to be huge on MDM, but I grew away from it. I still like some melodic stuff, like Soilwork's The Chainheart Machine. But Heartwork-era Carcass has always been and will probably always be my fav MDM band \m/I'm WAY into the melodic Death thing ATM. I've been listening to little else but Opeth, Soilwork, In Flames and CoB lately.....
Linda McCartney![]()
