Noticed some people discussing books in the movies thread so thought I'd start one for books.

Some of my favorites

Tess Of The D'Ubervilles-Thomas Hardy
Wuthering Heights-Emily Bronte (all time fave)
Anything by Agatha Christie but especially up to late 40's
Killer See Killer Do-Jonathan Wolfe
 
Don't find it depressing myself. Yes it is dark but that appeals to me. No love story comes close to that of Heathcliffe and Cathy.
