Good thread.

I use Adblock Plus, Minimize to Tray, PDF Download, Tab Mix Plus and Tweak Network 1.1.1 or somethin.

I recommend Tweak Network it optimizes your browser settings for broadband internet and can really increase your browser speeds, but you prolly allready know or have tweaked your browser perhaps allready, this is just the simple automated way of doing it.

I like the search engines.

I've got ebay, wikipedia, merriam and webster and imdb all for easy reference.

I'm not overly computer literate and would love to be able to have a search engine that would be ebay.com.au as opposed to ebay.com, ditto with google. Is this hard to do? I've had a look at the firefox helps but it's a bit beyond me. I assumed all I would have to do if find some code and add an .au to it.

Any ideas?

iMacros is single handedly preventing me from getting RSI.

It is plugged into both Firefox and Netscape, and use Netscape to automaticaly open up all my online databases that usually takes a minimum of 20 clicks, with one single click. Love it!

What does FlashGot actually do? I keep automatically updating it all the time yet can't remember actually using it. Unless I unknowingly use it everyday....

Has to be used along with seperate program FlashGet for download management. Right-click a link, selection of links, or the whole page and download files in FlashGet. Like DownThemAll but better imo - flashget also does torrent and emule.

Yeah, you can get an ebay.com.au one, I just found out about this site myself a few days ago...

http://mycroft.mozdev.org/

they have search engine addons for ebay.com.au, jb hi-fi, ezy dvd, dymocks, piratebay, isohunt etc. theres heaps there. Make sure you get the one with a tick icon if there's an option.

also has links telling you how to make your own. one easy way to do it is to use this site...
http://ready.to/search/en/
basically the site you want to make a search engine addon for needs to have what you search for in the results url...
eg. searching imdb for "big footy" ends up with the url...
http://www.imdb.com/find?q=big+footy&sourceid=mozilla-search
then use "http://www.imdb.com/find?q=" for the 'front of search term'
and "&sourceid=mozilla-search" for the 'end of search term' then type in a name for the plugin (IMDB) and 'make search plugin', then install with the "OpenSearch Plugin..." link. works great for me. did one for my local library and some other sites no problem.

also this extension works well with the search engine plugins...
Organize Search Engines
it allows to put the search engines into folders which is cool.

Found out today i can use 'Download helper' to directly download songs off myspace. Myspace has subsequently been r*ped repeatedly by me and this function.

Can't believe no one has said this - Foxmarks Sync.

Allows you to sync your bookmarks, great if you use more than 1 computer like i do and you bookmark new sh*t during the day.
