My Dad was born in old Hrvatska and my Great Grandfather on my mothers side came out from country Antrim in 1928 I think.

I was lucky enough to go to croatia this year and i must say it's a beautiful country AND full of the most beautiful girls i've ever seen in my life.

I stayed with this family of 6 who gave up their 2 bedrooms to rent out to me and 5 others. The family of 6 stayed in their lounge room.... Amazing people the croats....

Another funny thing was, their currency is called 'kunas' (err i think). Anyway i started off calling it "corona's" and was told "no nicky, that's not right" so then i changed to calling them "kahuna's" which was responded "she's not even trying"

Anyway kahuna's stuck and every single person i met started calling them "kahunas" as well, i guess coz it was so damn catchy.

Couple of my mates were over there recently as well, the photos look awesome, a beautiful country.

Though I don't tihnk the fact these people slept in a lounge room makes them amazing by any stretch of the imagination.

the funny thing about this crap in the balkans is that the people that actually live there get along much better than the decendants who live here.

I was born in London the same as my parents, whose parents came from County Derry in Ireland, as did their parents.

Celtic I'm not making light of the Bosnians but this guy is being a hypocrit.

Yeah fair enough, I probably went OTT with my comments earlier, but to be fair I didn't realise just how sensitive this issue is to people of croatian heritage like CarlyP, it's just that I've met a few very nice Bosnian people who have fled that horrible situation, and yeah they don't talk about the war as it's too painful, however the one thing that really irks me is that some of the butchers there (won't single out any nationality this time to be fair) have gotten have never been brought to justice (or given light sentenances), and frankly yeah it's just horrifirc what happened to them, that is another big case of racial and religious genocide that sadly seems to be glossed over the in modern day war on terrorism and weapons of mass destruction :thumbsd:
