Thought we could all do this again, seeing as we have a footy media board now. So basically who would your ideal commentary team invovle. For me

Game Callers (Generally 2)
Rex Hunt- Some people love him, some dont. I am a big fan of the over the top nature of his calling. Nothing like listening to a close game with Rexy yelling or going off at something. Love his quick one-liners or replys

Brian Taylor- Alot of respect on these boards for BT, and understandably so. He is one of the great callers of the modern era, and almost nothing can beat it when he gets pumped up or when leon gets the ball. Calls the game, so you feel like you are there

Special Comments (Generally 2-3)
Gary Lyon- Knows alot about the game, and dosnt make outrageous comments in order to enhance his reputation or status. Very insightfull at times and a great footy brain

Nathan Buckley- New kid off the block, and has started magnificantly. Like lyon dosnt rely on outrageus or controvesial statements to boost his reputation. Always explains his thoughts on the game. Having played the game last year, is a great asset rather than the older players stuck in "footy in the 60's"

Boundry Rider (generally 1)
Doc Larkins- Obvisouly being a doctor, he has all injuries covered. Always good to get a professionals oppinion on any sudden injuries, and doc seems to be a reliable and informatble boundry rider

Stats-man (generally 1)
Greame Bond- Really the only one i know, but he has been doing it a long time, and is very good at what he does, and keeping statisics. Can get involved with the call aswell rather than being a "on cue" man

So in summary

Callers: Rex Hunt, Brian Taylor
Special Comments: Gary Lyon, Nathan Buckley
Boundry Rider: Doc Larkins
Statsman: Greame Bond

Unlucky: Dennis Cometti, Billy Brownless, Luke Darcy

BT & Dennis Commetti
Garry Lyon & Danny Frawley
Doc Larkins
Anyone for the stats wouldn't really phase me

best ever were louie, jack dyer and casey on radio.

but they wont be doing it anymore.

for the future id suggest gerard whately has his foot in the door to become the anchor of fox tv coverage next year.

he and brian taylor, danny frawley with gerard healy could be their no 1 team and i dont watch FTA so coulnt care less whos on there.

How Ricky Olarenshaw & David Schwarz got to be on Seven's commentary team still puzzles me. Surely Seven should've chosen someone better for the position? They were good players, but commentators...?

Best commentator with the most potential by far sadly was Clinton Grybas, absolutely loved listening to him whether it was footy or basketball, but for now it is Rex and BT, special comments Sam and Wallsy, for humour, wit and footy IQ, i would be happy with JB at times and Case from fox sports is under rated.

Casey??? Only if you want a stat for every player everytime they touch. "Smith runs in and kicks an easy goal, the fifth week in a row that he's scored after catching the train to the ground and tieing up his left shoelace first."

Anthony Hudson and Brian Taylor with Gerard Healy and Nathan Buckley special comments.

Both callers can be over the top but the special comments guys are level headed to balance it out.

Brian Taylor and James Brayshaw.
Garry Lyon and Nathan Buckley.
Doctor Peter Larkins or The Chief.
Ash from MMM Melbourne.

Game Callers: Bruce M, Rex Hunt
Special Comments: Garry Lyon, Mark Mclure
Special Comment Ext: Rowan Sowers (umpire coach)

Boundy Rider: Dr Peter Larkins

I know that this doesnt mix it up much but I think that in terms of chemistry 3AW's sunday team is the best and I wouldnt change anyone.

Callers: Rex HUnt and Tony Leonard
Special Comments: Robert Walls and Tony Shaw (the best commentator on radio)
Boundary rider: Scott Cummings

I think Mat Granland at SEN is the best football caller. There is no mucking around with him, no crap stuff. If its footy you want to listen to he does it right. Doesn't shout during the call, unlike one of his colleagues and that drives me crazy. His player identification is excellent and description of the game is very good. I know he worked at 3AW but where was he from before that?
