He has had OP this year, and has only in the last 2 weeks played seniors for Sandringham and correct me if i am wrong but had 28 touches on the weekend and was near BOG.

I am talking about AFL form. Nick smith dominated the VFL and look how good his AFL proved to be? Yes he has been injured i am just going off his first few games this year and i don't think his fitness level will ever get to a normal AFL footballers. I just think he will make it. You can think what you want but there are currently 30 players ahead of him on our list in my oppinion. Normally 6 to 8 get the chop/retire each year so i believe he won't break out top 30 next year with all the new draft picks coming through and therefore gone.

He played one game and was dropped and MFC allowed him to regain his fitness. He stated in an article earlier in the season that he should not of played against Hawthorn round 1 (his only game this year) becuase he was not fit enough. This was due to OP and not his lung injury, Nick Smith was a dud from the get-go and never showed anything at AFL Level.

Petterd showed great form last year in the AFL and that his more than capable at playing good footy at AFL level. His regaining his fitness and i dare say use the remainder fo this year as a steping stone towards 2009. He at full fitness is in our best 22. If your so cofident in your statement name the 30 players infront of him?

B: Buckley, Warnock, C Johnson
HB: Rivers, Garland, Wheatley
C: Morton, McLean, Green
HF: Davey, Miller, Bate
F: Sylvia, Robertson, Wonaeamirri
Foll: P Johnson, Jones, Bruce
Int: Whelan, Moloney, Watts, R.Warnock

Emergencies: Petterd, Dunn, Maric, Martin

Defence
B: Frawley Garland M Warnock
HB: Bartram Martin Rivers
Back ups: Whelan Bell C Johnson Wheatley

Comments:
The defence is strengthening. The club should draft focus on drafting at least 1 defender in the national draft.

Centres/Wing
C: Morton Mclean Bate Moloney Bruce Pettard Buckley Valenti Grimes

Comments:
Prismall: I don't think we should go after Prismall. The club should keep draft picks. I would develop players on the current list such as Pettard Buckley Valenti Grimes and draft few more young midfielders with pace. If Prismall is essential to the midfield, then the best trade deal will be Prismall and Geelong's second rounder (Pick 35) for Pick 20.

Half forwards and Forwards
HF: Robertson Miller Green
F: Newton Watts Wonaeamirri
Sylvia Dunn Maric to rotate as well

Comments:
Watts is one of the player the club should draft to replace Neitz. Watts could be the next Franklin, a player with good marking skills and good pair of hands for a KPP. This area is where the club should focus and draft more FF's players to kick more winning goals.

Rucks
Warnock/Naitanui P Johnson Meeson Spencer

Comments:
If the club draft Watts, the club should draft R Warnock via PSD. Obviously, drafting Watts mean the club will miss out on Naitanui.

Ruck Rover
Jones McDonald

Comments:
Great combination- mixture of experience and youth. Both players are hard at the footy.

Rover
Davey

Comments:
With Maric and Wonaeamirri at the FF zone, Davey to play as a rover, helping out the midfield and inject more pace.

Delist and retirements
Netiz, Carroll, Holland, Yze, Weetra, Bode

Trade
1) Trade Jamar to Port Adelaide for 3rd rounder (Pick 39). Lade retired, Port need ruckman. Jamar comes from South Australia.
2) Trade White to Carlton for 3rd rounder (Pick 41).
3) Should keep Sylvia to strengthen the FF structure, an area the club should focus to develop.

Players to promote
Wonaeamirri and Valenti

Draft Picks 1, 17, 20, 36, 39 (Jamar), 41 (White), 52 and 66

#38 – Tim Cahill – Key forward with rumoured attitude problems, definitely has talent however.
I think you mean Paul Cahill. This guy is a mate of mine and is an absolute superstar. The attitude used to be an issue but he has pretty much resolved it over this year and now dominates for Sturt U19s and Reserves. He needs to add a bit of bulk but is super athletic and dare i say it, very much like Buddy Franklin in his style. One of the best marks in the TAC Cup however kicking set shots is an issue (like Buddy). He has a lot of potential but would need a year of solid gym work before he is ready for the big time.

Odds on to be top 5 in vertical leap at draft camp.
