The National Old today. Drove well, smoked some. Light wind. Refreshing. 34 points.

Putting poor IMO. Practice was good, IRL left some out there. Bunker play was good, out even in the deep ones. Enjoyable day at paradise.

depends....first glance im....well if i was all for it id say yes.
its true we've been looking for a metro club, but members (national not long island) have never cared about going to cape shanck to play anytime. although i know long island is the most played course cause its 30-40mins closer to the city.

im personally not a fan of huntingdale.

Played 18 both Saturday and Sunday. Sat at home club was a horror show, think I hit one fairway all day and i think that was from a half shank haha. I wanted to pull out of Sunday at Mt Macedon after the previous days efforts but had pre-committed.

Was hitting the ball really well on the Sunday and even hitting good draws and fades off the tee where required. Just messed up on and around the greens. They're tricky greens at the best of times, being on the side of the mountain its deceptive whether they're rolling uphill or downhill most of the time. But they were also a lot slower than usual due to recent coring not coming back 100% yet.

Just meant to many of my putts left way short or way past the hole. Don't think I sunk anything outside of 6-7 feet.

Still would have put in a decent card had I not gone for glory and put one OOB off the tee on 18 :$

Some of the views are breathtaking, depending on which tees you play off as to how hard the course is - sounds dumb but the back really do make a BIG BIG difference compared to the visitors, far more than the slope indicates

The views were amazing, the wind was breezy and made it tough for a hacker like me, even though the pro said it wasn't that windy. I would hate to be there on a windy day then. Shot 101 off the stick, left about 5 golf balls in the deep rough, did not want to make friends with local wildlife, so did not even bother looking. Was great playing a links course for the first time in my life. Managed to sneak in 9 at Warrnambool as well, shot 46, played the front 9 which i think is the best 9 at Warrnambool, some very good courses down that way.

I haven't even had a good look at the field yet to be honest with you. Obviously would like to see a Victorian, or at the very least an Australian win though.

Who's your long shot?

Backed him already

I didn't even realise the Oz open was on this weekend.

Having it played in one state is garbage.
I did read that it's going to be played in Victoria in 2020 and 2022. But that's only because the contract with the NSW government had two 'release years' written into it.

Selling off the hosting rights to the highest bidding state government obviously isn't working to attract players or increase the prize pool.

I actually quite like the idea of putting in a $5 levy into golflink memberships. However I can see why people don't like the idea. Especially those who live in parts of Australia that never have a chance of hosting an Aus Open.

$5 is a great idea. Its one cup of coffee per year. Definitely need to rotate the courses. Im pretty sure Peninsula is gunning for a guernsey in this regard?
