Best course!

Some of the par threes from the back tees are outrageous.

195+.

I normally play off nine. Played off 14 yesterday which shows how difficult the course is.

It's my favorite course in Victoria, love it

Got a few of those at national. It’s criminal. And that’s not off the blacks.

The 13th is my favourite.

460+ par four. I smashed a drive, and was still 220 away.

Crushed a 3 hybrid. Still short of the green.

Completely duffed my chip.

Chipped in.

Wrote four on the card.

Terrific course with great green complexes, hate the 13th hole though, haha. Too freaking long for a par 4.
The second hole is ripper.

Played it once...used a Driver on the second...Played my second off some rocky funky bunkery thing up on the right...walked off with a 6 or so. Next time I will tee off with a 6 or 7 iron. Endless ways to approach a hole like that. It is a ripper.

Yep, it's a mid iron wedge hole, green slopes are excellent

So you are saying its to attack par 3s with a hybrid/wood
No i just don't think par 3s should be at a distance where a half decent golfer needs a wood/hybrid to reach the green.

I wouldn't call myself a short hitter as a can sometimes get to 460-470m par 5s in 2 but anything over 190 I'm probably hitting hybrid. For shorter hitters that may even be a 3 wood or driver. Just think courses should be set up where par 3s can be approached with an iron

Went around St Andrews Beach yesterday. From the blue markers. Slope rating of 139.

FMD was it tough.

Back nine was far better than the front.
Are blues the back or can the course go up a notch with some juicy black markers?
Not being a long hitter, I love the blues, I can never reach the fairway bunkers!

The blues are as far back as it gets. No black tees.

5 more holes to get a point on is good fun though? Played with a 28 handicapper last week. Nothing more bewildering than hearing '6 for 4' being called out.

Yeah. The first hole is a 495m par five.

One of the best on the course.

Par. Thought I was in for a big day.

I was not.

Broke 50 around royal park this arvo. 47 for those playing at home.

Bumped into a fella who was off 3. He mentioned that getting clubs fitted would help anyone's game more than you could appreciate.

Is he talking smack or what? Keep in mind he was the one that told me his handicap
