Off the back markers it had a slope rating of 150 odd.

Was rated toughest course in Victoria (maybe oz) when slope ratings came out.

It's a great track.
Some great par 3s

Enjoy 😁

I second this.

The Par 3’s are a highlight.

Think i played there some 20 years ago or something. Maybe 15. Anyway, sorry cant remember anything about it.

Are you doing this?

Booked it online. Might need to ask about this pie business when I'm down there:p

Had 34 today with 3 wipes. One was a second shot into green that just missed right but do you think I could find it?
Mate was in pair behind me and yells out to me whilst I’m on the next tee holding up the ball asking how the hell I couldn’t see it?
Was 5 metres to the right of the green I’m going ****ing blind!

Me too mate. Unco and forgetful as well.

Went and played on a little course out in the sticks today at Goombungee Golf Course. It was cold, windy and I had half my normal handicap. First hit with my new irons and driver for a respectable 28. I hit a lot of good shots. Foreign course cost me. Geez the face on my new irons are hot.

Best ball, Aussie vs Irish with three mates at Meadow Springs, Mandurah WA. Ended up drawn on 86 so no one's turning pro (there wouldn't be 10 rounds between us in the last couple of months) but plenty of laughs and a very good day had by all.

Just saw this on a fb group. Thoughts? Heading down tomorrow down the peninsula to play. Surely they cannot try to enforce this
I know the police went to Northern and were policing social distancing, location ID etc and it’s a fine for the club and the individuals for any breaches.
This included groups of two standing on the tee with other groups of two etc but warned first without being fined.

Thats what its all about!

Intersting, its causing waves at the clubs i frequent, given most members are from melbourne.

I think if youre a member of a club thats many many kms away and can prove it, its ok.

In addition, say in my case if im pulled over by a cop and asked why no play at local course, my answer is "ok, im a member down here....and ok if you want me to play at my local public course then i am taking the spot away from someone who legitimately needs it.

If you’re a member in the restricted zone of a club in a restricted zone but not where you live it’s fine so long as it’s not outside the zone obviously.
For green Fees players not so sure I think you can be in strife.

i liked this bit:
2 people should be playing a hole at any single time

so wait for the group in front to finish, then tee off? haha

Get the binoculars out to see if they have finished playing the long par 5 in front of you

This is not great news for the high end public access courses on the Mornington Peninsula.

Drove down and played Eagle ridge today. No police checks on the way down. No police checks on the way back. Clubhouse didn't ask what postcode we came from either (Eastern suburbs fwiw). Great course really enjoyed it. Started par, par, par and sadly from there it was all down hill. Still a great day out nice and sunny down there. Course is in great dondition

I am a member of a golf course 30 kilometres away and there is a public course around the corner from my house, am I allowed to play golf at the course 30km away?

"If you are a member of a sporting club within the Restricted Area, then you can attend, provided the club is permitted to open under the restrictions.
Exercise is not a permitted reason to leave the Restricted Area, whether you have a membership at a regional sporting club or not."

https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sport-and-exercise-metropolitan-melbourne-and-mitchell-shire-covid-19#can-i-play-golf

Also, it sounds like most clubs are shutting down competitions again. I assume this is only for the metro melb and mitchell shire.

edit:

Golf Operations

Based on further verbal advice received from the Victorian Department of Health, Golf Australia has been advised that:

Within the restricted area:

Club competitions must not be conducted, but handicapping of scores through non-contact means is allowed

No hire equipment, including golf clubs, pull buggies, golf carts or range balls may be made available for hire under any circumstances

Indoor coaching in a retail facility is not permitted

Based on advice on the DHHS website, travel within the restricted area is permitted for the purposes of playing golf for club members.

Outside of the restricted area, clubs and facilities;

Will continue to have an obligation to check identification and refuse service to someone who resides within the restricted area

Can continue to operate whilst ensuring that all existing restrictions and physical distancing requirements are followed
